Regarding the incident in which ship LA-06695 towing barge LA-06883 was on its way from Ky Ha port, Quang Nam province to Ly Son island, Quang Ngai province, an accident occurred that caused the tugboat to sink, resulting in 4 deaths and 5 missing people on April 24, 2024. Up to now, the vehicle involved in the accident has not been salvaged to conduct an investigation of the case. The Investigation Police Agency, Quang Ngai Provincial Police has issued an official dispatch urging the salvage of the vehicle involved in the accident in the waters of Quang Ngai province.

One year ago, immediately after the incident, units coordinated to search for missing victims in the sea of ​​Ly Son island.

On May 19, Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee Tran Phuoc Hien issued a document requesting Quang Ngai Maritime Port Authority to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to urgently urge owners of vehicles and salvage units to speed up the salvage of tugboat LA-06695 and excavator to serve the investigation of the case.

Previously, SGGP Online Newspaper reported that on May 17, 2024, the Investigation Police Agency, Quang Ngai Provincial Police initiated a case related to the sinking of a barge tugboat in the waters of Ly Son Island (Quang Ngai Province), leaving 4 people dead and 5 missing.
