Khanh Don reveals his childhood living with his grandmother, regrets not being able to recognize his child

After divorcing his first wife and breaking up with singer Luong Bich Huu, he is currently living a happy life with his wife, 8 years younger - actress Huynh Nhu. In the program Knock on the Door, Khanh Don confided that his childhood lacked affection because he did not live with his parents.

“My mother passed away when I was just a few years old, still very young. My father was young so he remarried, I lived with my paternal family since I was little, and was raised by my grandmother. Because my father worked far away, he only came home once every few months, sometimes even once a year, so I only got to see him once in a while. Even though my father's house was nearby, it was just the two of us taking care of each other,” the male singer shared.

For Khanh Don, his grandmother is the one who gives him a feeling of warmth and love. “I remember when I was in 2nd or 3rd grade, I argued with my younger brother and was punished by my grandmother to kneel and beat both of us. Feeling angry because I was right but was punished, I left home. I walked from morning to night, not knowing where to go. When she saw me disappear, she called everyone to look for me,” he said, adding that he lived with his grandmother from a young age until 12th grade, when he moved out and became independent. She lived with her youngest uncle until she passed away.

Talking about Khanh Don's complicated love life and the fact that he had two children before getting married, Huynh Nhu affirmed that she was not concerned about the past.

Huynh Nhu said: “At that time, I was busy studying and working, and didn’t have time to go on social media, so I didn’t know about my husband’s scandal. It wasn’t until I met him that I found out, but I didn’t care much. A broken relationship always has causes from both sides. As someone involved, I understand that a broken relationship doesn’t just happen naturally.

I only feel sorry for my husband because until now, he still misses the baby (Khanh Don and Luong Bich Huu's stepchild). As a wife, seeing my husband alone buying a gift for the baby but not being able to see him again and sadly putting the gift away, I feel heartbroken, I am sad about that," Nhu said.

Huynh Nhu commented that perhaps Khanh Don loves her because he can get along with his stepchild. “Everyone knows that my husband has a son. From the moment I met him, I felt very normal. Why do we have to worry about whether he is a stepchild or a biological child? Up to now, my son and I live together very harmoniously. Even when there are things that are difficult to say, he chooses to tell me instead of sharing them with his father. I think my husband loves me for that reason,” Huynh Nhu shared.

Looking back at past scandals, Khanh Don admitted that he was “excessive”. “When faced with a scandal, of course I have to look back at myself, where there is smoke there must be fire. Before, I was a womanizer, everyone knew, after performing I would drink. I realized I was too excessive. But at that time, my career was successful, I had money, everything came too easily so it was difficult to control myself.

It wasn’t until I had an emotional breakdown that I looked back at myself. At that time, I didn’t share anything, didn’t reply to anyone, or read any comments online. I just thought that I had to get up from where I fell. From that fall, I think I am now the most perfect version of myself,” the male singer said.
