On the morning of December 8th, Hong Phong ward, Dong Trieu city, held the inauguration ceremony for phase 1 of the restoration and renovation project of Binh Luc communal house, a provincial-level historical site.
Binh Luc Temple, located in Binh Luc Ha area, Hong Phong ward, is dedicated to Kham Minh Thanh Vu Hien Dao An Sinh King Tran Lieu, the father of Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan. Binh Luc Temple is one of the earliest temples built in the Northeast region, reflecting the architectural style of village temples during the Le Trung Hung period. Due to historical events, Binh Luc Temple deteriorated and became a ruin. In the 1970s and 1980s, it was completely destroyed by fire. In 1995, the people built a small, simple temple on the site of the old temple's rear sanctuary to serve the community's religious and spiritual needs.
In 2023, Binh Luc communal house was classified as a provincial-level historical site by the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province. On January 29, 2024, the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province approved the project to restore and renovate the Binh Luc communal house in Hong Phong ward. Construction began on March 30, 2024, with the following components: the main hall, the screen wall and ceremonial gate, the surrounding wall, the road, the foundation for the stele house, and the guesthouse.
The project was completed with 100% socialized funding and 1,788 man-days of labor contributed by the local people. It meets the cultural, spiritual, and religious needs of the local population, while also creating a unique historical and cultural landmark for the area. It connects with the Tran Dynasty National Special Historical Site and the system of historical sites and scenic spots in Hong Phong ward and Dong Trieu city, developing cultural and spiritual tourism and promoting socio -economic development in the locality.
In the coming period, the locality will continue to promote and disseminate information about the historical site through various forms and media so that people and tourists know more about and understand the values of the site, thereby raising awareness of its protection. It will continue to mobilize resources for the restoration and preservation of the site, promoting its historical, cultural, and revolutionary traditions, fostering patriotism, and inspiring the spirit and aspirations of future generations. All resources will be mobilized to complete phase 2 of the project as soon as possible.
