Mr. Bui Dinh Long emphasized that, looking back at the history of diplomatic relations between the two countries, it can be said that the strong friendship - and the good, long-term cooperation between the two countries and the two peoples of Vietnam and Russia - was born, laid the foundation and painstakingly cultivated and built by President Ho Chi Minh.

On the basis of that good friendship, since the 1990s, Nghe An, the hometown of President Ho Chi Minh , and Ulyanovsk province, the hometown of V. Lenin, have established a friendly and cooperative relationship.

In particular, in 2017, the two provinces inaugurated the monument of President Ho Chi Minh in Ulyanovsk - a prominent event marking a new development in the relationship between the two sides.

The statue of President Ho Chi Minh in the homeland of Lenin is a meaningful cultural work, a "red address" for every Vietnamese person living, studying and working in the Russian Federation to visit and remember him, his homeland and roots.

At the same time, this is also the pride of every Vietnamese living abroad, a place for international friends to understand more about the beloved leader of the Vietnamese people.

The Lenin monument in Vinh city is a cultural and artistic symbol, expressing the close and close relationship between the people of the two provinces. From these cultural diplomatic activities, the two sides will be more closely connected in bilateral cooperation activities in the fields of investment, trade, health, education and training, tourism, etc.

According to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Vietnam Gennady Stepanovich Bezdetko, the time-tested relationship between the Russian Federation and Vietnam will continue to develop positively, on the basis of agreements at the highest level, in the spirit of comprehensive strategic partnership.

“I believe that the monument erected today will become the next symbol of friendship and cooperation not only between Ulyanovsk province and Nghe An province but also between the people of Vietnam and Russia,” the Russian Ambassador shared.
