Previously, at around 9:30 a.m. on May 2, while patrolling to ensure security and order in the Nguyen Trung Truc bridge area (lock 1, Binh Long 4 hamlet), the task force discovered a subject showing signs of suspected illegal drug use, so they stopped the vehicle for inspection.
Accordingly, the subject was identified as Vo Quang Duy (born in 1985, residing in Tay Khanh 4 Hamlet, My Hoa Ward, Long Xuyen City) who is staying in Dong Phu Hamlet (My Xuyen Ward). Through checking the scene of the embankment area about 1.5m from the subject, the police force discovered a nylon bag containing 5 plastic straws containing a white powder suspected to be Heroin. The subject confessed that he had just bought the drugs for use, but when he saw the police force, he was afraid of being discovered and threw them down the embankment before being checked. The police force drew up a record, seized the evidence and took the subject to headquarters for further investigation.
