When music fuels love for the Fatherland

Towards the 80th anniversary of National Day September 2, many musicians and singers have focused on composing, staging, and performing new music videos and songs praising the homeland and paying tribute to heroes and martyrs, contributing to spreading national pride in the community.

Proud to be Vietnamese

The great success of performing the song "Writing the continuation of the story of peace" (composed by Nguyen Van Chung) at the grand ceremony celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) was a great motivation for singer Vo Ha Tram to continue pursuing the music genre expressing patriotism with the MV "I Wish to be a Vietnamese" (composed by Doan Minh Quan), which was just released in early August 2025.

The MV opens with the sound of ocean waves mixed with a lullaby filled with love. Immediately after the lullaby is the singer's deep confession, sending the listener the heroic, resilient, and indomitable spirit of our ancestors in Vietnam for thousands of years: My country has been invaded by enemies many times for thousands of years. It is the blood and bones of our ancestors, who have kept our country independent. When bombs are still falling on our country, my whole country, Vietnam, despite sacrifices, is willing to wear the soldier's uniform and fight without retreating...

The song's lyrics are simple but profound, arousing love for the country and the Vietnamese people, while also affirming the great value of peace, independence, freedom, and the happiness of territorial integrity that all Vietnamese people are enjoying.

Singer Vo Ha Tram shared: “I am very happy to see young people increasingly enthusiastic about traditional revolutionary songs. After more than 20 years of pursuing mainstream music, in addition to the works that have stood the test of time, I also really want to introduce new works, especially aimed at young people. That is why I and musician Doan Minh Quan, a young and enthusiastic person (born in 1996), created the work Nguyen la nguoi Viet Nam. In addition to the lyrics and the new performance, the work is also widely popularized on media channels with a large number of young people today such as TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube..., associated with trends that are easy to reach young people. I hope that Nguyen la nguoi Viet Nam, along with other traditional and revolutionary songs, will contribute a small part to encourage and spread more strongly the love for the Fatherland, family, love between couples, nature, and even love for oneself.”

Praise peace

Recently, the song Peace is Beautiful by musician Truc Dong has reached audiences nationwide through the voice of the 135 Band. The song has made a strong impression on listeners with the emotional words of veteran Quach Minh Son in the opening verse: "Freedom, peace, not easy, have it now, try to keep it...", as a strong affirmation of what the Vietnamese people have experienced in the wars to protect the Fatherland.

The lyrics of the song are like a heartfelt reminder, sent to today's young generation: Peace is so beautiful, my friend, do you know? It is a bright sky where gunfire no longer echoes. Forever preserving the shape of the country. The sacred color of the flag, a red stream of blood...

Musician Truc Dong shared: “The inspiration to compose this song came to me on the morning of April 30, 2025, in the atmosphere of the whole city celebrating the national festival. The image of the forest of flags flying in the warm sunny sky, the parade marching proudly, “millions of hearts beating as one”. At that time, I felt a familiar, peaceful and affectionate color of everyday life, and understood more about the great value of the two words “peace”. With the emotions settling in my heart and the vibrations of a youthful heart, I quickly recorded the lyrics and then proceeded to record a demo. Wishing to contribute a part of the youth's strength towards the great celebration of the 80th anniversary of National Day, I and the 135 Band members worked hard to complete the recording of this song”.

These are just two of many musicians and singers who are working hard to create new songs praising the love of their homeland. Many works and artistic projects have been and are being completed to join the national festival, such as: the project Vietnamese Music - The Era of Rising by singer Nguyen Vu, the project Vietnamese Heart Words by singer Hoang Bach, and the project "Next Life Still a Vietnamese" by musician Tuan Cry...

Musician Nguyen Van Chung and singer Tung Duong have just collaborated to launch the Vietnamese music product - Proud to Continue Stepping the Future. All royalties from using this song will be donated to charity activities. The beat/karaoke music will be distributed for free to help spread the national spirit.
