Alongside the launch of the iPhone 16, Apple announced the official release date for the iOS 18 operating system.

In the recently concluded "It's Glowtime" event, Apple announced four versions of the iPhone 16, along with a new range of AirPods headphones and a new Apple Watch.
Additionally, the iPhone manufacturer also announced that the iOS 18 operating system will be released on September 16th, bringing new features to users such as customizable Home Screen, a redesigned Control Center, and, most notably, Apple Intelligence.
Therefore, on September 16th, iPhone users compatible with iOS 18 can go to Settings > General > Software Update to update to this new version.
Below are the iPhone models compatible with iOS 18: iPhone XR, iPhone XS and XS Max, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 15, 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
All four versions of the iPhone 16—iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max—will come pre-installed with iOS 18. Notably, Apple Intelligence only applies to the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and the iPhone 16 series due to their higher system requirements.
