Sharing at the seminar "Taking advantage of regional linkage resources in trade promotion" organized by Industry and Trade Magazine on August 26, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy said that next year, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will test a new regional linkage trade promotion support model, which is the model of organizing trade delegations abroad on a regional scale (Winning with Vietnam).

According to the representative of the Trade Promotion Agency, currently, Vietnamese enterprises have a great need to bring their products to the world , and localities also have to go out to the world a lot to learn, survey the market, and learn about operating models and trade promotion models.

“If localities go with small groups, it will lead to problems such as: In foreign markets, our diplomatic and trade representative agencies abroad have very thin forces. Therefore, just having to do research on policies and then report on the updated market information in the local market to Vietnam is already a huge amount of work.

If we have to support the localities to go to learn about the activities on such a small scale, it will be a difficult task for the business. Going on such a small scale will not only generate a large amount of work but also not be very effective in connecting" - Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy raised the issue.

In particular, foreign customers also find it difficult to remember whether we met with customers in Bac Kan today or met with customers in Thai Nguyen tomorrow. People only remember that we met with the entire Vietnamese delegation and had outstanding ABC products like this.

Therefore, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has developed a plan for localities to organize larger-scale foreign trade delegations, bringing more valuable products to foreign markets, creating a higher communication effect for businesses.

Sharing the view that it is necessary to promote regional linkages in product consumption, Mr. Dinh Lam Sang - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Bac Kan said: "Building points of introduction and sale of OCOP products is not just for our province but is called multi-province, which means that goods in our area will be present at OCOP product sale points of other provinces and vice versa.

At that time, your province's OCOP products will be available at points of sale and product introduction in our province to increase the exchange of goods and meet the current needs of people, that is, they have products of other cooperative entities that they need.

For example, mountainous areas need goods from the lowlands, rural areas need goods from outside the city, or especially mountainous areas like Bac Kan really need OCOP products from coastal areas like Hai Phong and Quang Ninh...

According to Mr. Dinh Lam Sang, the locality’s foreign trade promotion activities have also achieved certain results. For example, Bac Kan vermicelli products have met the national 5-star OCOP standard and have been regularly exported to Europe, and have also received very high ratings from foreign customers.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in recent years, linking production and supply chains in the region has contributed to making the Tan Cuong - Thai Nguyen tea brand present throughout the domestic market and exported to many foreign markets such as the United States, Canada, Russia, the United Kingdom, etc.

Similarly, the creation of a close link in production, processing and consumption between the Cooperative and people in Bac Ka province has helped the province's fragrant Ba Be green squash products to be present in most distribution systems such as Co.opmart, Winmart, Lotte mart...

For Hai Duong province, in order to bring Thanh Ha litchi to markets such as China, Japan, France, America... the province has made efforts to build a professional production and distribution system, and build links in production. At the same time, it has promoted product promotion, consumption promotion, and expanded export markets for the province's litchi products.

However, the Ministry of Industry and Trade assessed that the linkage between the production chain and the value chain of agricultural products is still not tight. The main activity is still farmers processing and consuming by themselves. The number of units and enterprises that have linkages with farmers is not much, and they have not been able to create a large output of high-quality processed products.

Although it has been exported to many countries around the world, it is still mainly exported in raw form, with low processing content and low value, not creating competitiveness and added value chain for Vietnamese agricultural products.
