In just over a month, the 33rd SEA Games will officially begin in Thailand. At the National Training Center for Senior Athlete (Zone B), the atmosphere these days seems to be heated up by each jump, turn and firm landing of the Gymnastics athletes. All are diligently practicing with the determination to bring the highest results for Vietnamese sports .

Considered the “gold furnace” of Vietnamese gymnastics, the atmosphere in the gym is more urgent than ever in the days leading up to the 33rd SEA Games. Each athlete is practicing diligently with the highest determination, aiming for achievements for the sake of the flag.

At 7:30 a.m., the gym was already lit up and the sounds of landing and jumping echoed. Some athletes were there early, warming up and reviewing their techniques before starting the main lesson.

Every day, athletes spend many hours practicing continuously, divided into different events such as horizontal bars, horse swings, vaulting, hanging rings, etc.

Not only does it require physical strength, gymnastics is also a sport that requires absolute precision, balance, body control and mental stability. Therefore, the training process is always as tense as a bowstring, focusing on each movement and each landing point.

Sharing about the preparation process for the 33rd SEA Games, Coach Truong Minh Sang said that the Gymnastics team is entering the final stage. During the year, the athletes have participated in a number of tournaments at home and abroad, thereby achieving certain results and accumulating valuable competition experience.
"Through each tournament, we draw lessons and experiences with athletes to have better preparation and improve achievements. Regarding SEA Games 33, from the beginning of the year, the whole team determined and prepared mentally, and up to now, everyone is ready."

At the 33rd SEA Games, host country Thailand adjusted the competition rules, eliminating two events, team and all-around, which were the strengths of Vietnamese Gymnastics, especially in the men's team.
“In terms of individual events, we have not been affected too much. We are determined to continue focusing on the traditional strengths of the men's team such as pommel horse and hoop, while increasing our competitiveness in the parallel bars and horizontal bars,” coach Truong Minh Sang shared.

Names that have been performing consistently in recent years such as Khanh Phong, Phuong Thanh or Xuan Thien are expected to "bring gold" for Vietnamese gymnastics at the SEA Games in Thailand.
After a series of stable performances in recent times, especially the gold medal at the World Gymnastics Championships in May, Xuan Thien is confident that he will continue his gold medal streak at the 33rd SEA Games.
“My goal at the 33rd SEA Games is to defend my individual gold medal for the third time. Actually, my biggest opponent is none other than myself. I have to maintain stability to complete the test well. Countries in the region have progressed very quickly in recent times, but looking back over the past year, I believe I can defend my gold medal,” said Xuan Thien.

Dinh Phuong Thanh, the experienced "golden boy" of Vietnamese gymnastics, is expected to bring home a medal at the 33rd SEA Games.

This sprint phase is also the time when the exercises increase in difficulty and intensity. Athletes not only strengthen their techniques but also improve their endurance, reflexes and safety while performing rotations and flips in the air.

For Vietnamese female gymnasts, names like Nguyen Thi Quynh Nhu and Tran Doan Quynh Nam are also trying hard to practice, improve the difficulty and accuracy in their performances, and strive to compete for medals in their strong events.

In that gym, there was no noise but a steady, smoldering fire, the desire to win. The 33rd SEA Games was still ahead, but the preparation journey had been fueled by sweat, discipline and faith.
If each exercise is a brick, then these days are the time when the "gold furnace" of Vietnamese Gymnastics is blazing, ready to forge the leaps that will bring athletes to glory.
