Hanoi City Social Insurance said that about 80% of pensioners and new social insurance beneficiaries receive money via ATM cards.

On the afternoon of July 2, Hanoi Social Insurance announced that in the payment period of July 2024, the total number of new pension and social insurance benefit beneficiaries (increased by 15%) in the area is more than 593,000 people.
Of these, the number of people receiving money through personal accounts (ATM cards) is over 562,000, reaching about 95%. In contrast, the number of people receiving cash is only about 31,000.
Total payment amount is over 4,000 billion VND, an increase of more than 500 billion VND compared to June 2024 due to adjustment of benefit levels according to Decree 75/2024 of the Government .
As of 2:00 p.m. on July 2, Hanoi Social Security had paid pensions and monthly social insurance benefits to nearly 80% of recipients via personal accounts, or about 450,000 people.
"Cash payments to beneficiaries at payment points start from July 4, 2024.
With the determination to help beneficiaries receive benefits as quickly and promptly as possible, Hanoi Social Insurance is continuing to pay to all beneficiaries according to regulations," said Hanoi Social Insurance.
Previously, in June 2024, the rate of people receiving payments via ATM cards in the capital was only about 49%. After that, the social insurance agency coordinated with related sectors such as the police to increase the number of people receiving cashless pensions.
To make quick payments, Hanoi Social Insurance has focused on funding, human resources, and information technology infrastructure to be ready to make timely and full payments to recipients.
