Commencement of the resettlement area to serve the construction of Rach Mieu 2 bridge with a total investment of over 337 billion VND

(ABO) On the morning of June 3, in Tien Giang province, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tien Giang province held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Resettlement Area Project serving the construction of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge connecting Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces.

The project was approved by the People's Committee of Tien Giang province under Decision No. 522/QD-UBND dated March 26, 2024, with a total investment of VND 337.65 billion from the central budget. The resettlement area is built on an area of 5.2 hectares, planned into 324 land plots including two types of plots of 85 m² and 90 m², expected to be completed on December 31, 2025.

Accordingly, the project's objective is to arrange land and build technical infrastructure to serve the resettlement of households affected by the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge construction project as well as households affected during the site clearance process to implement the Resettlement Area. The project is not only about building houses, but also creating a sustainable living environment with a modern infrastructure system, including water supply and drainage, electricity, roads and public utilities.

After surveying and evaluating the contractors' capacity, the investor selected a consortium consisting of Anh Tuan Road and Bridge Construction Company Limited, Tien Giang Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company and TICCO Construction Joint Stock Company to carry out the project.

At the ceremony, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tien Giang Province, Vo Van Tuoi, representative of the investor, affirmed his commitment to implementing the project with the highest quality and fastest progress possible; at the same time, he hoped to receive cooperation and support from the community throughout the implementation process. The resettlement area is expected to become a united community where people can develop together and have a better life.

The Resettlement Area Project contributes significantly to promoting the development of transport infrastructure in the Mekong Delta region; at the same time, ensuring the rights and improving living conditions for people affected by local socio -economic development projects.
