Launching a communication campaign and health check-ups for the elderly

On June 3, Lao Cai City Medical Center launched an integrated communication campaign to provide health check-up services and screening for some common diseases in the elderly.

The campaign belongs to the National Target Program on Socio -Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas by 2025.

Accordingly, the staff of the City Health Center has disseminated the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws on the elderly; the challenges of population aging to socio-economic development; health care for the elderly; communication to change people's behavior on the rights, obligations and benefits of health care for the elderly; guidance for the elderly to take care of their own health, prevent and control non-communicable diseases...

Along with that, the City Medical Center organizes free screening for some common diseases in the elderly, including general examination, blood pressure check and quick diabetes test.

To implement the campaign, the City Health Center will examine and screen for some common diseases for 4,931 elderly people in 8 communes and wards in the area, including: Ta Phoi, Hop Thanh, Coc San, Cam Duong, Thong Nhat, Dong Tuyen; Binh Minh and Xuan Tang.
