No more worries about prolonged power outages during the rainy season in the mountainous district of Muong Lat

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - With the close direction of the Project Management Board, the efforts of the construction unit, the close cooperation and support of Muong Lat Power Company and Thanh Hoa Power Company, the project of connecting the loop circuit with two 35kV lines originating from two 110kV transformer stations in the mountainous district of Muong Lat has recently been completed on schedule, helping to completely resolve the situation of prolonged power outages during the rainy and stormy season.

Every time the rainy season approaches, people in the Muong Lat highlands are worried about power outages. For many years, because there is only one 35kV power line from Trung Ly commune to the district center, nearly 40km long and crossing rugged mountainous terrain, the power system here is often interrupted when landslides, broken wires, fallen poles occur... There are years when the whole district is in darkness for nearly a month, seriously affecting life, study, medical examination and treatment, and socio- economic activities.

Understanding the importance of ensuring a stable, safe and continuous power supply for the people, the leaders of Muong Lat district have proposed to Thanh Hoa Electricity Company to improve the reliability of the power system. This requirement becomes more urgent in the context of increasing demand for electricity and complicated weather conditions.

The units implemented the project to connect the loop circuit with two 35kV lines originating from two 110kV transformer stations in the mountainous district of Muong Lat.

Faced with that reality, Muong Lat Power proposed to the leaders of Thanh Hoa Power Company an investment plan to connect the loop circuit with two 35kV lines originating from two 110kV transformer stations: 371E19.6 from Mai Chau 110kV station ( Hoa Binh ) and 374E9.12 from Ba Thuoc 110kV station (Thanh Hoa). The plan was approved by the Company, and immediately after that, Muong Lat Power Company actively coordinated with consulting and construction units to carry out survey work, site clearance and design.

In March 2025, the project officially entered the construction phase. The construction terrain was extremely challenging: the power line had to cross a steep mountainside, with a section crossing the Ma River nearly 300m in conditions of prolonged heavy rain. However, with the close direction of the Project Management Board, the efforts of the construction unit, and the close cooperation and coordination of Muong Lat Power Company, the project was completed on schedule. On May 24, 2025, the new ring grid was officially accepted and safely energized.

The completion of the power grid circuit not only solves the problem of unstable power supply, but also helps to make operations more flexible, reduces the rate of power loss, and contributes to ensuring regional energy security. From now on, every rainy season, Muong Lat people can feel more secure, no longer living in the dark, students do not have to study under kerosene lamps, medical facilities no longer worry about treatment interruptions, and local businesses can also feel secure in investing and producing.

This is not just a simple technical infrastructure project, but also a meaningful step forward in sustainable development, bringing light closer to every house in this remote border highland area.
