No expansion of fee-free visitors to Hoi An Ancient Town

Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee requested the Hoi An City People's Committee to base on the guidance of the Department of Finance in Official Dispatch No. 414 dated February 13, 2025 to implement the contents related to expanding the subjects exempted from paying entrance fees to visit Hoi An ancient town.

According to the Department of Finance, the expanded subjects that the People's Committee of Hoi An City proposed to exempt from paying entrance fees are not subjects exempted from paying fees according to the provisions of Clause 1, Article 10 of the Law on Fees and Charges and Point d, Clause 1, Article 5 of Circular No. 85 of the Ministry of Finance.

The regulation of subjects exempted from paying entrance fees other than those specified in Clause 1, Article 10 of the Law on Fees and Charges and Point d, Clause 1, Article 5 of Circular No. 85 has been recommended by the State Audit as being inconsistent with regulations.

Therefore, the proposal of Hoi An City People's Committee to expand the subjects exempted from paying entrance fees to Hoi An ancient town mentioned above cannot be implemented.

Previously, the People's Committee of Hoi An city submitted a proposal to the province to consider expanding the subjects exempted from paying entrance fees to visit Hoi An ancient town to include: delegates from domestic and foreign localities that have signed or have cooperative and exchange relationships with Hoi An city and Quang Nam province; domestic and international delegations coming to Hoi An, Quang Nam to participate in cultural exchange events in the locality; working delegations that have working relationships, learning experiences... with agencies and units of Quang Nam province and Hoi An city.
