DNO - On the morning of October 28th, Le Ngoc Quang, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee, personally inspected the flood prevention and control work in Hoi An, Hoi An Tay, and Hoi An Dong wards. Accompanying him were leaders of the City People's Committee, representatives from relevant departments and agencies, and local authorities.

At each location, the City Party Secretary and the delegation inspected the flooding situation, especially in Hoi An ancient town, where water levels rose and many streets were cut off.

The team used boats to access deeply flooded areas in order to assess the actual situation and listen to feedback from residents and tourists staying there.

During the inspection, the City Party Secretary visited and encouraged the people to overcome difficulties, and acknowledged and commended the local authorities for proactively and effectively implementing disaster prevention and control plans according to the "four on-the-spot" principle.

The Party Secretary emphasized: “Hoi An is a popular destination for international tourists, so the top priority is ensuring the absolute safety of both tourists and residents. The authorities need to proactively plan for evacuating tourists to safe locations before the water level rises, and at the same time guide residents to proactively respond, absolutely avoiding complacency.”

The Party Secretary noted that, given the complex situation of heavy rain and flooding, and the possibility of power and water outages, authorities at all levels need to proactively contact, connect with, and provide timely support to the people and tourists, especially in areas that are cut off or isolated.

Party Secretary Le Ngoc Quang highly appreciated the spirit of solidarity and mutual assistance of the people of Hoi An, a locality with much experience in responding to floods, but emphasized that complacency must be avoided and that ensuring the safety of lives and property must always be the top priority.

The City Party Secretary presented gifts and visited several households in Hoi An Tay ward that were severely affected by the floods.

The on-site inspection by City Party Secretary Le Ngoc Quang not only aimed to understand the situation of disaster prevention and control at the grassroots level, but also demonstrated a proactive, thorough, and supportive spirit, ensuring that the people of Hoi An can respond safely and effectively to the complex developments of the rain and floods.
