DNO - On the morning of October 28, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee Le Ngoc Quang directly inspected the actual work of flood prevention and control in Hoi An, Hoi An Tay and Hoi An Dong wards. Accompanying him were leaders of the City People's Committee, representatives of relevant departments, branches and local authorities.

At the destinations, the City Party Secretary and the working delegation inspected the flooding situation, especially the ancient town of Hoi An, where the water level rose and many streets were cut off.

The delegation used boats to approach deeply flooded areas to grasp the actual situation and listen to feedback from local residents and tourists staying there.

During the inspection, the City Party Secretary visited and encouraged people to overcome difficulties, acknowledged and commended the local government for proactively and effectively implementing disaster prevention and control plans according to the "4 on-site" motto.

The City Party Secretary emphasized: “Hoi An is a place with a large number of international tourists, so the top priority is to ensure absolute safety for tourists and residents. The government needs to proactively plan to evacuate tourists to a safe place before the water rises, and at the same time guide people to proactively respond, absolutely not being subjective.”

The City Party Secretary noted that in the context of complicated developments of floods and rains, with the possibility of power and water outages, authorities at all levels need to proactively contact, connect, and provide timely support to people and tourists, especially in isolated areas.

Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Ngoc Quang highly appreciated the spirit of solidarity and mutual assistance of the people of Hoi An, a locality with a lot of experience in dealing with floods, but we must not be subjective and must always ensure the safety of life and property as the top priority.

The City Party Secretary presented gifts and visited some households in Hoi An Tay ward that were severely affected by floods.
