
At 1:00 p.m. on October 28, the total flood flow regulated by hydroelectric reservoirs on Vu Gia and Thu Bon rivers reached 10,034m 3 /s (over 5,642m 3 /s on Vu Gia river and nearly 4,392m 3 /s on Thu Bon river), 1,533m 3 /s higher than the highest point on the night of October 27 (8,501m 3 /s).
Due to continued rain and heavy floods upstream, at 2:00 p.m. the same day, the total flood discharge to the two rivers was more than 11,834m 3 /s; of which, to Vu Gia River was more than 6,194m 3 /s and to Thu Bon River was nearly 5,640m 3 /s.

After about 6 hours of falling below alert level 3, the water level on Cai River (Dak Mi) at Thanh My and Vu Gia River at Hoi Khach rose back above alert level 3.
At 1:00 p.m. on October 28, the water level on Cai River (Dak Mi) at Thanh My was at 22.64m, 2.64m higher than BĐ3; Vu Gia River at Hoi Khach was at 16.99m, 0.49m higher than BĐ3 and is showing signs of rising again.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, it is forecasted that by the afternoon of October 28, floods on rivers in Hue city and Da Nang city will recede and remain at level above BĐ3.
Deep and widespread flooding in Hue and Da Nang cities will continue in the next few days; there is a high risk of flash floods on rivers and streams and landslides on slopes in provinces and cities from Hue to Quang Ngai .
