According to the report, the province currently has 12 units providing services for collecting, transporting and treating domestic solid waste and 6 domestic solid waste treatment areas that ensure environmental protection requirements, treating about 1,300 tons of waste/day. In addition, the province has an industrial waste and hazardous waste treatment plant with a capacity of 100 tons/day of Khanh Hoa Environmental Joint Stock Company, in Ninh Ich village, Bac Ninh Hoa commune. The situation of collecting, transporting and treating domestic solid waste still has many difficulties. Currently, there are still many domestic solid waste dumping sites that do not meet the prescribed standards, concentrated in localities that coordinate with individuals to collect and treat waste by burning and composting. Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Huyen requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment to coordinate with the Department of Finance to urgently advise the province to review and handle arising issues related to payment of costs to units providing waste collection, transportation and treatment services from July 1 to present. At the same time, preside over and coordinate with departments, units and localities to propose and advise the province on methods of managing activities and building economic and technical norms for collection, transportation and treatment of solid waste in the whole province, to be completed in November 2025; work specifically with units to select units to collect, transport and treat waste before January 1, 2026 to apply in 2026. In addition, organize a review and assessment of the waste receiving capacity of current landfills; investigate the current status and forecast for hazardous solid waste. Regarding waste classification, the Department of Agriculture and Environment is researching and implementing a pilot project as a basis for expansion.
