Implement vigorously and continuously

In recent times, the work of preventing and combating smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the province has achieved many positive results. Functional forces such as market management, police, customs, and border guards have coordinated synchronously, promptly detected and handled many violations, contributing to stabilizing the market and protecting consumer rights.

According to the Provincial Steering Committee 389, in the recent peak month, the authorities inspected 220 cases, discovered 102 violations, with a total value of goods of over 730 million VND; and paid over 642 million VND to the budget. These figures show that the fight against smuggling is being carried out vigorously and continuously.

The Provincial People's Committee has directed relevant agencies to focus on controlling the circulation of goods, ensuring supply-demand balance and price stabilization. Market regulation solutions have been implemented synchronously, contributing to preventing speculation, hoarding and unreasonable price increases.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung said: "We direct the authorities to increase surprise inspections at wholesale markets, warehouses, and key traffic routes to promptly detect and handle violations according to the motto of handling one case, warning the whole region and the whole field."

Strengthen control and propaganda

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung said that the smuggling situation is still complicated, especially in border areas, traditional markets and on e-commerce platforms. The subjects are using increasingly sophisticated tricks to deal with the authorities. "We must determine that the fight against smuggling is a long-term, regular task, and we must not be negligent or subjective," Mr. Ho Van Mung emphasized.

From the above reality, Directive No. 32-CT/TU of the Provincial Party Standing Committee was issued, with the requirement to strengthen the Party's comprehensive leadership in the work of preventing and combating smuggling. The Directive clearly defines the political responsibility of the heads of Party committees and authorities at all levels, and at the same time thoroughly implements the viewpoint that there are no "forbidden zones" or exceptions in handling violations, especially for acts of covering up, assisting or being irresponsible to allow smuggling and trade fraud to persist.

In addition, the directive requires increasing the application of technology in the monitoring and control of goods, especially in cyberspace; strengthening specialized functional forces; promoting internal inspections, preventing negativity in the performance of official duties. The industry and trade sector coordinates with the police, customs, market management forces, etc. to organize specialized inspections, handle smuggled goods, goods of unknown origin, and goods violating intellectual property.

Along with administrative measures, propaganda and mobilization work for the people are focused on. The Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department is assigned to preside over and coordinate with the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and socio-political organizations to strongly deploy propaganda and dissemination of laws to the people. The propaganda will aim to diversify forms, rich and intuitive content, suitable for each target group to raise social awareness of the serious consequences of counterfeit goods, smuggled goods and commercial fraud.

Chairman of Vinh Xuong Commune People's Committee Bui Thai Hoang said: "In the fight against smuggling, the role of the people is very important, so it is necessary to continue to propagate and mobilize people to actively participate, monitor, provide information and promptly report violations to the authorities. It is necessary to continue to promote the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods", at the same time increase surprise inspections of hot spots, and strictly handle them to deter".

Anti-smuggling is not only the responsibility of the authorities but also the task of the entire political system and the participation of the entire community. The serious and synchronous implementation of Directive No. 32-CT/TU will contribute to improving the effectiveness of state management, maintaining market discipline, protecting the legitimate rights of people and businesses, and promoting sustainable socio-economic development.
