* DENGUE FEVER

Currently, it is the peak of dengue fever season, the disease is at risk of breaking out and becoming complicated if we do not proactively and actively implement preventive measures.

In addition to the efforts of the health sector and authorities at all levels, to prevent disease for yourself, your family and everyone around you, the Ministry of Health strongly recommends that people take the following disease prevention measures:

Cover all water containers to prevent mosquitoes from laying eggs. Take measures to kill larvae weekly by putting fish in large water containers; washing medium and small water containers, turning over containers that do not contain water; changing the water in flower vases; adding salt or oil or larviciding chemicals to bowls of water placed under cupboards.

Weekly remove waste materials and natural water holes that do not allow mosquitoes to lay eggs such as bottles, jars, broken glass, coconut shells, broken jars, old tires/tires, bamboo holes, leaf sheaths...

Sleep under a mosquito net and wear long clothes to prevent mosquito bites even during the day. Actively cooperate with the health sector in spraying chemicals to prevent and control epidemics. When having a fever, go immediately to a medical facility for examination and treatment advice. Do not self-treat at home.

Each household should spend 10 minutes each week to prevent dengue fever with the following simple movements:

Check, detect and destroy mosquito larvae in water containers by regularly washing, covering tanks and water containers, and releasing fish to destroy mosquito larvae. Regularly change the water in vases, add salt or chemicals to bowls of water placed on cupboards, aquariums, rockeries, etc.

Remove waste materials, natural water holes, and turn over unused water containers to prevent mosquitoes from laying eggs.

Actively coordinate with the health sector in implementing campaigns to kill mosquito larvae and spray chemicals to prevent epidemics.

Messages to prevent dengue fever: No mosquito larvae, no dengue fever; Killing mosquito larvae is the responsibility of every household; The community joins hands to repel dengue fever.

* HAND, FOOT AND MOUTH DISEASE

The way to prevent hand, foot and mouth disease is to practice the "3 clean" practices well, including:

Clean eating and drinking: Eat cooked food and drink boiled water, use clean water in daily activities, ensure clean eating utensils and do not let children share napkins, handkerchiefs, eating utensils such as cups, bowls, plates, spoons.

Stay clean: Viruses can survive on the surfaces of objects in your living space. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly clean surfaces and objects that come into daily contact such as toys, school supplies, doorknobs, stair railings, table/chair surfaces, and floors with soap or common detergents.

Clean hands: Children and caregivers should wash their hands regularly with soap and clean water, especially before preparing food, before eating/feeding children, before holding children, after using the toilet, after changing diapers and cleaning children.

Collect and dispose of children's feces and waste.

When you see your child has a fever and blisters on the palms of the hands, soles of the feet or the mucous membranes of the mouth, you need to take the child to a medical facility immediately. When your child is sick, you must keep him/her home from school and limit contact with other children. Do not break the blisters to avoid infection and spread of disease. Limit movement, increase nutrition, and feed your child soft liquid foods such as porridge and soup.

If you suspect you have the disease, contact the nearest medical facility for timely advice and treatment.

Wear masks at medical facilities to prevent Covid-19

* COVID-19 PANDEMIC

To proactively prevent and control Covid-19, the Ministry of Health continues to recommend that people take the following measures:

Wear a mask in public places, on public transport, and at medical facilities.

Limit gatherings in crowded places (if not necessary).

Wash your hands frequently with clean water, soap or antiseptic solution.

Increase exercise, physical training, and proper nutrition.

If you have symptoms of fever, cough, or difficulty breathing, you must immediately go to the nearest medical facility for examination, monitoring, and timely treatment...

People coming to and returning from countries with high numbers of Covid-19 cases need to proactively monitor their health status to prevent and combat Covid-19 for themselves, their families and close contacts.

The Ministry of Health will continue to coordinate with WHO to closely monitor the Covid-19 epidemic situation in the world and propose appropriate and effective disease prevention and control measures.
