Encourage businesses to apply technology in production

For Dong Nai - one of the localities with the most industrial parks in the country, with thousands of developing manufacturing and service enterprises - this is even more necessary. Promoting enterprises to innovate technology, apply digital transformation to production and business, and deploy support solutions will be further promoted by Dong Nai in the coming time.

Return on investment

Mr. Truong Hoang Phuong, Director of Nestlé Tri An Factory ( Nestlé Vietnam Co., Ltd., Amata Industrial Park, Bien Hoa City), assessed that digital transformation is the driving force for growth and sustainable development. Nestlé's vision is to be a global company, pioneering in implementing development based on 3 main pillars: improvement and innovation activities, digital transformation and sustainable development. In digital transformation, Nestlé prioritizes data digitization, thereby applying appropriate technologies. Currently, Nestlé has invested more than 20 trillion VND in Vietnam with 4 factories and 2 distribution centers. Nestlé Tri An Factory alone is considered the most modern factory with a smart factory model.

According to Mr. Phuong, Nestlé applies a smart factory model focusing on technological innovation and digital transformation to optimize efficiency, based on key factors of digitizing a flexible and autonomous workforce; utilizing robots and automation to increase productivity, efficiency and flexibility. Digital transformation has created positive changes in business growth, supply chain development, environmental protection, product quality improvement and customer experience, and sustainable operations and farming support.

Similarly, Huynh Duc Production, Trade and Service Company Limited (Bien Hoa City) has been applying modern technology to production for the past 5 years and has developed strongly. The company has invested in new machinery systems, which are more expensive but bring higher quality, efficiency and productivity, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of the brand.

According to Mr. Pham Ngoc Duy, Factory Director of Huynh Duc Production, Trade and Service Company Limited, 10 years ago, to become a partner of a semiconductor corporation in the US, Huynh Duc Company had to undergo 6 months of capacity assessment, not to mention the initial contact period lasting more than a year. In fact, almost no Vietnamese enterprise has the technical and management qualifications to immediately meet all the requirements of large foreign corporations. Thanks to international investment and cooperation, Vietnamese enterprises like Huynh Duc have improved their capacity, from technological innovation to applying digital transformation to production at all stages. Thanks to that, Huynh Duc has 80% of its customers from Japan, the US, and Europe.

Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo sets the goal that by 2030, Vietnam will be among the top three countries in Southeast Asia in research and development of artificial intelligence, and a center for the development of a number of digital technology industries and fields in which Vietnam has advantages. There will be at least 5 digital technology enterprises on par with advanced countries. Research and development (R&D) expenditure will reach 2% of GDP, of which social funding accounts for more than 60%; allocate at least 3% of the total annual budget for science and technology development, innovation, national digital transformation and gradually increase according to development requirements. Attract at least 3 more leading technology organizations and enterprises in the world to set up headquarters and invest in research and production in Vietnam.

Encourage businesses to transform digitally

At the Workshop on Deploying Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo and the orientation of applying science and technology to production and management at enterprises organized by the Dong Nai Industrial Parks Management Board at the end of May, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Minh Dung affirmed that Dong Nai is facing great opportunities to accelerate development. In that process, the role of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation is very important, the shortest way to realize the above aspirations. Dong Nai hopes that enterprises will be proactive, bold in investing, applying advanced technology solutions to improve competitiveness, create high-quality products and services, contributing to the overall development of the province.

Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology Tran The Vinh shared that Dong Nai's goal is to become a digital technology industry center that gathers high-quality human resources in research and application of advanced and modern technology development. The Department continues to advise the province on implementing new policies and legal regulations and proposing provincial support policies to strongly promote science, technology, innovation and digital transformation activities in enterprises, creating competitive advantages for the locality.

Nguyen Tri Phuong, Head of Dong Nai Industrial Parks Management Board, emphasized that enterprises should proactively research and learn more about the introduced solutions, thereby choosing the most suitable technologies and solutions for their characteristics and resources. Dong Nai Industrial Parks Management Board will continue to accompany enterprises in the process of researching, selecting and implementing scientific and technological solutions and digital transformation. At the same time, the province will create a favorable investment and business environment, promote administrative procedure reform, and apply information technology in management to provide maximum support to enterprises.
