To effectively implement inspection and post-inspection work, the Provincial Department of Health has proactively and promptly advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue many documents and plans to implement state management of food safety; established inspection and post-inspection teams at food production and trading establishments under its authority; closely coordinated with relevant departments, branches and units to strengthen periodic and surprise inspections and checks.
Inspection teams are flexibly organized at each time, especially during peak periods: Food Safety Action Month; Lunar New Year, Mid-Autumn Festival, festivals... Inspection content focuses on high-risk products and product groups such as bottled drinking water, natural mineral water; functional foods; food additives, flavorings, food processing aids; tools, packaging materials, containers that come into direct contact with food...
The process of organizing inspections and post-inspections is carried out by functional units in accordance with legal regulations; ensuring no overlap, causing inconvenience, or affecting the production and business activities of establishments.
In the first quarter of 2025, the health sector inspected and supervised 1,236 establishments; detected and reminded 81 establishments that still had some violations that did not meet requirements. Implementing the plan of the Provincial People's Committee on implementing the "Month of Action for Food Safety" in 2025, the provincial health sector established 128 food safety inspection and supervision teams (3 teams from the Department of Health; 125 teams from the District Health Center and Commune Health Station).
From April 15 to May 15, inspection teams of the health sector inspected 1,057 food production and trading establishments; conducted rapid testing of 117 food samples. Together with inspection teams of the health sector, during the "Month of Action for Food Safety", the provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment inspected 35 food production and trading establishments; district-level inspection teams inspected 869 establishments; the provincial Police coordinated with the Market Management Department and the Rural Development Department to inspect 3 establishments, handle 2 cases of food safety violations, confiscate and destroy more than 233,000 loaves of bread of various types and 1,347 kg of animal products of unknown origin with a total value of goods of more than 312 million VND...
Implementing the plan "Inspection and post-inspection of compliance with legal regulations at food production and trading establishments under the management authority of the Health sector in 2025", from April 17 to present, the inspection team of the Department of Health has conducted inspections and post-inspections at 4 companies under its management authority in the form of surprise inspections.
During the inspection and post-inspection process, the inspection team of the health sector has combined with promoting the dissemination of legal regulations on food safety so that food producers, processors and traders understand and comply with regulations, ensuring the rights and health of consumers.
In the coming time, the health sector will strengthen inspection and post-inspection of food production and trading establishments according to the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the Ministry of Health , and feedback from the people and the media.
The inspection and post-inspection process must follow the correct order and procedures; based on the actual situation at the facility, organize sampling and send samples for testing for the right purpose, right subject, right standard, right rate according to the provisions of law, ensuring savings and efficiency; review and handle according to authority or transfer violations to functional units for handling according to regulations.
At the same time, continue to coordinate with departments, branches and localities to promote communication work on food safety, focusing on disseminating new legal regulations, providing guidance on safe food production, processing and preservation practices; publicizing inspection results, post-inspection, and handling of violations to increase deterrence and legal education in the community.
In particular, inspection and post-inspection teams will combine propaganda work during their work at the facility, directly instructing owners of production and business establishments on food safety procedures and conditions, thereby helping them raise awareness and gradually overcome shortcomings and violations.
