Checking the progress of the project "Restoring, developing production and perfecting the technical process of cultivating Cao Bang yellow soybean variety in Cao Bang province"

On October 27, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) of Cao Bang province organized an inspection and assessment of the progress of the project "Restoration, development of production and improvement of technical process for cultivating Cao Bang yellow soybean variety in Cao Bang province", chaired by the Green Growth Research Institute, Vietnam Academy of Agriculture. Comrade Nong Thanh Than - Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology was the Head of the delegation.

The working group of the Department of Science and Technology inspected the experimental site to evaluate and select the golden soybean variety in Dong Thai hamlet, Quang Uyen commune.

The project "Restoring, developing production and perfecting the technical process of cultivating Cao Bang yellow soybean variety in Cao Bang province", is carried out for 36 months from April 2025 to March 2028, with the goal of restoring the precious genetic resources of the yellow soybean variety , ensuring uniformity in yield and quality , contributing to improving production efficiency, while preserving and sustainably exploiting the native soybean genetic resources of Cao Bang province.

After 6 months of implementation, the project has achieved important results such as: Collecting 30 samples of yellow soybean varieties being grown in Cao Bang, The seed samples were used to build a group of fields, to evaluate the diversity of genetic resources, based on the description of the typical traits of the varieties when screening from a selection of 500 G0 individuals of 25 seed samples in the group. 200 lines were used for evaluation and selection of G1 generation lines in Dong Thai hamlet, Quang Uyen commune.

After inspecting the experimental site for evaluating and selecting the yellow soybean variety in Dong Thai hamlet, Quang Uyen commune , the delegation also reviewed the progress report, records, and documents demonstrating the progress of the project implementation. The inspection showed that the host unit and the implementation team are implementing the tasks according to the approved schedule and content. The results basically meet the objectives of the first phase of the task, ensuring reliability, scientific value and practicality in serving the restoration of the Cao Bang yellow soybean variety. The inspection delegation requested the host unit and the task leader to pay attention to a number of contents: Complete the completed products and send them to the management agency to determine the volume, as a basis for advance payment of funds; Proactively arrange human resources, closely follow the approved description, continue to monitor, evaluate and select G1 lines in the autumn-winter crop of 2025, ensuring progress to move to the evaluation and selection stage of G2 generation lines as planned in 2026./.
