Continue writing glorious history with brilliant achievements

On the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the People's Public Security Forces' Traditional Day (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2024) and the 19th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2024), Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang - Politburo member, Secretary of the Central Public Security Party Committee, Minister of Public Security discussed the missions of the People's Public Security Forces in the new period for a strong and prosperous Vietnam, with increasingly happy people, according to the Government Electronic Information Portal.

Minister Luong Tam Quang said that after nearly 80 years of building, fighting and growing, with its heroic tradition, the People's Public Security force has continued to write its glorious history pages in the new era with brilliant achievements, with the efforts and sacrifices of generations of officers and soldiers.

In particular, firmly protecting national security early and from afar, consolidating the security belt from outside the territorial borders, in cyberspace and new spaces; protecting the Party, protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting and refuting erroneous and hostile viewpoints.

Continuously attack, suppress, and reduce crimes and social order; resolutely fight to eradicate criminal gangs, drug crimes, organized crimes, and black credit crimes.

On the fierce and arduous front of fighting against crime and protecting security and order, in peacetime, the blood of police officers and soldiers is still shed. Hundreds of police officers and soldiers have heroically sacrificed their lives, and thousands of comrades have been injured while on duty.

Resolutely and persistently fight against corruption and negativity

Minister Luong Tam Quang pointed out a number of key tasks in the coming time, including firmly protecting national security; absolutely protecting the security and safety of important targets and events, first of all, party congresses at all levels and the 14th National Party Congress; and not allowing unexpected passiveness in any situation.

Control and reduce crime sustainably; resolutely and persistently fight against corruption and negativity according to functions and tasks; continue to take the lead in digital transformation and administrative reform to serve the people; build communes, districts and provinces with no crime or social evils, where people can live in a secure, safe, orderly and disciplined environment.

Building a truly clean, strong, disciplined, elite, and modern People's Public Security force; Party committees and organizations at all levels united and strong; a contingent of cadres with firm political will, pure revolutionary ethics, firm knowledge of the law, proficient in professional skills, wholeheartedly "Serving the Fatherland, serving the People", knowing only "As long as the Party exists, we exist", "Honor is the most sacred and noble thing".

Regarding the breakthrough task, it is necessary to build, supplement and perfect mechanisms, policies and laws on security and order protection to meet practical requirements, especially new and difficult issues and non-traditional security challenges; build a truly clean, strong, disciplined, elite and modern police force; strengthen research and application of scientific and technical achievements and advanced and modern technologies in all aspects of police work.

In the coming time, the work of fighting against corruption and negativity will continue to be resolutely and persistently carried out by the Public Security force in accordance with the mottos of "non-stop", "non-stop", "no forbidden zones, no exceptions", "no matter who the person is", "handling one case to alert the whole region and the whole field", ensuring the principles, goals, tasks and solutions set forth and led and directed by the Party, directly by the Central Steering Committee for the Prevention and Combat of Corruption and Negativity.

In addition, we will actively advise on overcoming loopholes and shortcomings in the implementation of Party guidelines and State policies and laws discovered through the investigation and handling of corruption and negative cases, minimizing the causes and conditions that criminals can take advantage of to commit crimes.
