Da Nang's economy continues to grow

According to the report of the Da Nang Statistics Office, the city's industrial production index in April 2025 increased by more than 7.4% compared to the previous month, in which the 4 main industry groups all achieved high growth.

Specifically, the processing and manufacturing industry group increased by 7.4% compared to the previous month, increased by 10.6% compared to April 2024, with strong growth in the beverage, garment, wood chip processing for export, rubber products, steel production, new electronic assembly products of FDI enterprises,...

In the first four months of the year, industrial production in Da Nang City achieved a growth rate of 11.7% over the same period last year; in which the processing and manufacturing industry increased by more than 12%, which is the foundation for promoting the city's economic development.

In addition, a number of factories have expanded their production scale, contributing to increasing the volume of products produced in the area. Statistics show that the total export turnover of goods in the first 4 months of the year reached more than 1.12 billion USD, up 8% over the same period. The trade balance continued to maintain a trade surplus of 161 million USD.

Since the beginning of the year, Da Nang has granted new business registration certificates to 1,373 enterprises; attracted VND9,578 billion in total investment capital for projects outside industrial parks. At the same time, it has focused on accelerating the progress of starting and completing key projects; disbursed public investment capital of more than VND2,103 billion, an increase of more than 28% over the same period last year.

Currently, the city has a group of tax incentives and investment incentives for developing the semiconductor and artificial intelligence sectors, such as: corporate income tax exemption, tax incentives in Da Nang Software Park No. 2, Da Nang High-Tech Park,...

On the other hand, the service sector accounts for more than 71% of Da Nang's economic structure, supporting the economy to continue its breakthrough growth momentum, especially in the tourism, trade, transportation, etc.

Notably in April, Da Nang organized the Asian Golf Tourism Congress (AGTC), opened the Da Nang beach tourism season 2025, the event "Meet ASEAN in Da Nang"; welcomed the first direct flights from independent countries (CIS) such as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan,... Thanks to that, the total revenue from accommodation and food services in the month reached VND 2,828 billion, up 6.1% compared to the previous month and up 27.4% compared to the same period last year.

‏In the first 4 months of the year, Da Nang served more than 3.5 million overnight guests, an increase of more than 18.6% over the same period last year, including more than 1.7 million international visitors. Revenue from the service industry reached VND 11,827 billion, an increase of 54.1% over the same period in 2024. Impressively, real estate business services increased by 106%; medical services and social assistance activities increased by 41%; arts and entertainment services increased by 39%; education and training increased by 34.5%;...

‏Commercial activities flourished, modern retail sector, essential goods groups increased sharply. Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue of Da Nang City in the first 4 months of the year reached 51,913 billion VND, up 26.5% over the same period last year.

The above results show positive signals in the economic recovery and development of Da Nang City, towards the double-digit growth target in 2025 set by the City People's Council.
