On the afternoon of May 4, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health informed that right after serving the April 30 ceremony, the city's health sector continued to strengthen the medical care force at the 2025 United Nations Vesak Festival.

The 2025 Vesak Festival has attracted the attention of many people and Buddhists in all parts of the country in recent days.

At Thanh Tam Pagoda (Lonely Buddha Pagoda) in Binh Chanh District, after two days of opening for people to worship the relics of Buddha Shakyamuni, tens of thousands of people did not mind the long distance to come to worship.

At waiting areas, with very high concentrations of people, people wait in long lines in hot weather, creating a high risk of heat stroke, which can seriously affect people's health.

Faced with this situation, the health sector arranged more than 50 doctors (morning) and more than 30 doctors (evening) to be on duty from 5am to 11pm every day, ready to receive and handle emergencies on the spot.

From the time the temple opened to the public until 4:00 p.m. on May 4, 278 cases received first aid on the spot and 7 cases were transferred to the hospital.

Previously, the Ho Chi Minh City health sector had synchronously deployed plans to ensure medical care in the Thanh Tam Pagoda area. Arranged a permanent medical force, assigned hospitals near Thanh Tam Pagoda to be ready to provide professional support to the teams on duty at the pagoda and receive serious cases.

Ho Chi Minh City 115 Emergency Center plays the main role in coordinating all emergency activities, can mobilize additional medical support, and mobilize two-wheeled ambulances.

In addition, with a direct communication system with relevant forces (police, organizing committee), the 115 Emergency Center can consult with department leaders to deploy and activate emergency procedures in case of a larger medical incident.

Thanks to good preparation, after two days of activities, although many people needed medical care (mainly heatstroke), the city's medical staff made efforts and responsibly completed their tasks, without any serious medical incidents.

To ensure good health when visiting the Buddha's relics , the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health recommends that people bring hats, sun umbrellas, drinking water, and snacks. People with chronic diseases need to take their medication on time.

Do not jostle or push when participating in the ceremony to avoid falling or injury. If you feel tired or dizzy, immediately notify your companion, find a cool place to rest and contact the nearest volunteer or medical tent for timely support.

After the handover ceremony to the Vietnamese side, the Buddha's relics were taken by special vehicle to the Vietnam Buddhist Academy in Ho Chi Minh City - Campus II, the venue for the 2025 United Nations Vesak Festival.

After that, the Buddha's relics were invited to the place of enshrinement at Thanh Tam Pagoda (Lonely Buddha Pagoda).

Monks, nuns, Buddhists, and people can start worshiping Buddha's relics at Thanh Tam Pagoda (Le Minh Xuan Commune, Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City) from May 3 to noon on May 8. Time: morning from 6:00 to 11:30, afternoon from 13:30 to 21:00.
