Record waiting to be set at the 2nd Ca Mau Crab Festival

On May 13, news from the Office of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, the People's Committee of this province has just issued a plan to organize the Ca Mau Crab Festival - the 2nd time, in 2025 with many diverse and rich activities.

After the success of the first season in 2022, Ca Mau is urgently preparing for the second crab festival, scheduled to take place from November 11 to 13, 2025. This year's event has the theme "Ca Mau Crab: Forest scent - sea flavor", on a provincial scale, expected to attract 8,000 - 10,000 visitors.

Not only promoting famous specialties, the festival is also a "stage" for Ca Mau to showcase the crab industry value chain, stimulate tourism, arouse the entrepreneurial spirit and honor the unique culture of the southernmost land. The highlight is a series of record-setting competitions, the most anticipated of which is the Crab Master Chef competition, setting a record for Ca Mau crab - a place considered the "crab kingdom" of the whole country.

The activities at the festival range from professional depth to mass appeal. From the display of soft-shell crab farming models, OCOP booths, innovative products to a series of crab industry forums and seminars, and trade promotion conferences. In particular, the festival also cooperated with the Vietnam Record Organization to set a series of new records for cuisine, tourist destinations, accommodation facilities and typical restaurants.

The cultural space is also invested in a systematic way. The opening night takes place at 7:00 p.m. on November 11 at Phan Ngoc Hien Square (Ca Mau City) and promises to be a grand art festival combining tradition and modernity. Don ca tai tu clubs from many provinces in the West will gather in Ca Mau to perform, exchange, and recreate the traditional music space imbued with the identity of the South. In parallel, there will be a "grand music festival" for young people with rap, hip hop, EDM music genres... bringing a youthful and creative spirit to the festival.

With an expanded scale and the ambition to set many records, the 2nd Ca Mau Crab Festival is not only a festival but also a "soft strategy" to bring Ca Mau crab and local tourism further, connecting the value chain, creating momentum for sustainable economic - cultural - creative development.
