Many special activities open the 2025 Lotus Village Festival

Before the Opening and Inauguration Night of the “Uncle Ho Visits His Hometown” Monument held on the evening of May 15 at Lang Sen Stadium (Nam Dan District, Nghe An), since the beginning of May, events have continuously taken place attracting a large number of participants, such as:

Marathon "Journey in the footsteps of Uncle Ho - For the security of the Fatherland" (May 4, at Ho Chi Minh Square) attracted more than 2,000 athletes to participate, Opening of the photo exhibition "ASEAN countries and people" (afternoon of May 12, at Nghe An Museum) with 200 photographic works by authors from 10 ASEAN countries; Opening of the film week commemorating the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (evening of May 12, at Nghe An Folk Song Theater), Exchange of artists and film crews about Uncle Ho (afternoon of May 13, at Engineering Brigade 414, Nam Dan district)...

On May 14th alone, a series of events will take place: Opening of the 29th National Wrestling Championship at the Nam Dan District Gymnasium, Nghe An; Flower offering ceremony at the Uncle Ho Statue at Ho Chi Minh Square; Incense offering ceremony at Chung Son Temple; Incense offering ceremony at Kim Lien Relic Site; Presentation of the Golden History Page light sculpture at Kim Lien Relic Site; Exchange of artists and film crews about Uncle Ho at Vinh University.

On the afternoon of May 15, the 9-storey waterfall project at Hoang Thi Loan's tomb will be inaugurated, followed by the procession of Uncle Ho's photo from the Uncle Ho Memorial House at Kim Lien Relic Site to Lang Sen Stadium (7:00 p.m. on May 15), the opening ceremony and inauguration of the "Uncle Ho Visits His Hometown" Monument (8:00 p.m. on May 15) at Lang Sen Stadium. The program will end with a 15-minute fireworks display. This is the first time Nghe An has organized fireworks displays at Lang Sen on the occasion of May 19.

From May 16 to May 20, a series of cultural and sports activities will continue, including: Lotus Village Festival Sports Competition 2025; National Mass Art Performance "Sen Village Singing"; Exhibition "Ho Chi Minh - the most beautiful name"; Exchange and discussion programs; Art program "Ho Chi Minh - He is the belief in certain victory" and Closing Ceremony of Lotus Village Festival.

The Lotus Village Festival originated from the mass art movement “Sen Village Singing Festival” in 1981. In 2002, this activity was upgraded to a provincial festival and is held every 5 years on a national scale, associated with President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday.

Director of Nghe An Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Tran Thi My Hanh said that this is not only a cultural and political event but also one of the highlight festivals to attract tourists to Nghe An. This year, the program was elaborately built with many rich and unique activities, many new contents and attracted great public attention.
