In the 2025-2026 school year, nearly 104,000 students in Hanoi will register for the 10th grade entrance exam to public high schools. Based on the quota and number of registered students, students can know the "competition ratio" to enter each school.
According to statistics, this year, Yen Hoa High School has the highest competition ratio of 1/2.44. Ranked second is Le Quy Don High School - Ha Dong with a competition ratio of 2.34. Ranked third is Cau Giay High School with a competition ratio of 1.96.
Some other schools also have high competition rates such as Phan Dinh Phung High School (1.93); Khuong Ha Primary - Secondary - High School (1.92); Pham Hong Thai High School (1.79); Tran Phu High School (1.77); Viet Duc High School (1.67)...

The 10th grade entrance exam for public high schools in Hanoi for the 2025-2026 school year will take place on June 7 and 8. Students registering for specialized 10th grade will take the specialized subject exam on June 9.
This is the first year of applying the new admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, in which the new points are that the test scores of candidates and the standard scores for entering grade 10 of each public high school will be announced on the same day.
In previous years, the benchmark scores were usually announced 2-3 days after the test scores. This was a big challenge for the organization of Hanoi city because the number of candidates taking the exam was very large, usually accounting for about 1/10 of the total number of candidates nationwide participating in the 10th grade entrance exam every year.
