Celebrating the 135th Birthday of President Ho Chi Minh in Romania

Delegates offered incense in memory of President Ho Chi Minh .

On May 17, at the headquarters, the Vietnamese Embassy in Romania solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025).

The ceremony was attended by a large number of officials, employees and family members of the Embassy, representatives of Vietnamese associations in Romania and representatives of international students studying in the area.

At the ceremony, Ambassador Do Duc Thanh and his wife, along with other delegates, offered incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh - the national liberation hero, world cultural celebrity, who devoted his whole life to the freedom, independence of the nation and the happiness of the Vietnamese people.

After the incense offering ceremony, the delegates visited the photo gallery documenting President Ho Chi Minh's activities during his official visit to Romania (August 1957), Uncle Ho's bookshelf at the Embassy headquarters and watched a documentary film about President Ho Chi Minh's life and career to review his great contributions to the Vietnamese people.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Do Duc Thanh expressed his admiration for Ho Chi Minh's morality and personality, expressing his respect, remembrance and deep gratitude to a leader whose ideology led the Vietnamese people into an era of independence, freedom, and socialism; towards an era of national reunification, innovation and development.

At the Ceremony, the Embassy summarized the journey "Following Uncle Ho's Footsteps" in Romania that the Embassy launched on the occasion of the 134th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday in 2024. Thereby, introducing to the delegates documents and photo collections about President Ho Chi Minh's visit to Romania in 1957, as well as current information and images of 17 locations associated with Uncle Ho's activities during his visit to Romania.

In memory of Uncle Ho, Ambassador Do Duc Thanh called on all officials and employees of the Embassy and all the community, students and postgraduates living and studying in Romania to strive to continuously study Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, and to follow his teachings on promoting the role of overseas Vietnamese with the motto "each overseas Vietnamese is a people's ambassador" and the spirit of solidarity of the Vietnamese people wherever they are.

At the same time, responding to the determination to prepare potential and a firm stance to step into the era of national development, the Ambassador called on overseas Vietnamese to turn to their homeland with practical actions in the coming time such as contributing ideas to amending the Constitution, participating in the Vietnam Summer Camp 2025, organizing Vietnamese language classes well, successfully organizing the European Overseas Vietnamese Business Forum in Romania...
