On the occasion of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day on July 27, Vietnamese Ambassador to Hungary Bui Le Thai attended and spoke at the solemn ceremony organized by the Liaison Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association in Hungary, with the participation of many members of the Veterans Association, relatives of war invalids, martyrs and revolutionary contributors living and working in Hungary.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Bui Le Thai was moved to express his sincere remembrance and deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers and their families who contributed to the revolution, who did not hesitate to sacrifice their blood and bones for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and for the happiness of the people.
The Ambassador reiterated the words of President Ho Chi Minh : "War invalids, sick soldiers, military families and martyrs' families are those who have contributed to the country and the people. Therefore, the Government and the people must be grateful and help them."

Emphasizing that no matter where you are, the tradition of “When drinking water, remember its source” and “When eating fruit, remember the person who planted the tree” is always deeply engraved in the mind of every Vietnamese person, Ambassador Bui Le Thai affirmed that this is not only a moral but also a source of spiritual strength, connecting the community, and looking back to the origin.
Ambassador Bui Le Thai also praised and highly appreciated the practical and meaningful contributions of the Liaison Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association in Hungary in preserving and spreading the nation's fine traditions, carrying out activities of "Repaying gratitude", supporting and helping each other in life, contributing to building a united and strong community.
The Ambassador hopes that the Liaison Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association in Hungary will continue to play a core role in educating the young generation in Hungary, preserving and promoting patriotism and attachment to the homeland, contributing to strengthening the Vietnam-Hungary friendship.
The ceremony took place in a solemn, emotional atmosphere, imbued with affection, demonstrating the Vietnamese people's "remembering the source of water when drinking water".
