(Dan Tri) - More than 10,000 candidates participated in the first round of the teacher recruitment exam for the 2025-2026 school year in Ho Chi Minh City, in which the exam subject with the highest competition rate was equivalent to 1 "competing" 15.

On the morning of September 27, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City organized the first round of teacher recruitment exams for the 2025-2026 school year at public service units in the city's education sector.

The exam took place at examination councils including Trung Vuong High School, Hung Vuong High School, Tran Dai Nghia Secondary - High School, Nguyen Huu Tho High School, Gia Dinh High School and Marie Curie High School.

In this live round, candidates will draw lots to choose a practice topic, prepare a presentation in 15 minutes, and submit the preparation form.

Then, candidates will directly present knowledge and illustrate professional skills according to the prepared content and answer questions from the examination board.

Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc Chau, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, informed that the recruitment demand of Ho Chi Minh City this time is nearly 5,700 teachers for both public schools under the Department and public schools under the People's Committees of wards, communes, and special zones. There are 10,562 applications with 10,176 applications qualified to take the exam.

The highest competition is concentrated in high school science subjects. Specifically, the physics subject needs to recruit 18 teachers but there are 265 candidates registered, a ratio of 1 to 15.

Next, the chemistry subject only recruited 20 teachers but had 266 applicants, a ratio of 1 to 13.3. The math subject needed 68 teachers, with 367 applicants; the biology subject needed 19 teachers with 120 applicants.

Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc Chau said that, in addition to high school subjects, the competition level in some primary school subjects and preschool teachers this year is also positive as there are more candidates participating than in previous years.

In previous years, there was a lack of qualified candidates at these levels, but this year not only are there enough, but candidates also have to compete to be admitted at a level of 1 "against" 3 or 1 "against" 4.

The city's education sector has a large source of recruitment, which can recruit quality teachers but also puts pressure on candidates to be able to pass.

On the other hand, there are also many positions where the number of candidates registering is much lower than the recruitment demand, focusing on the subjects of fine arts, music , and technology at primary and secondary levels.

Specifically, for the fine arts subject at the secondary level, the city needs to recruit 235 teachers but only 57 candidates registered to take the exam; for the fine arts subject at the primary level, the city needs to recruit 194 teachers but only 30 candidates took the exam;

The elementary music subject needs to recruit 180 teachers but only 46 teachers take the exam; the middle school music subject needs to recruit 223 teachers but only 65 candidates take the exam...
