An Cuu Ward Police posted notices of hotline phone numbers in residential areas.

An Cuu Ward is an area with many large universities and hundreds of boarding houses and dormitories. The large concentration of young people has brought youthful vitality to the area, but at the same time is a big challenge for security and order, especially in cyberspace. With a curious mentality, wanting to find extra work but limited social experience, many students have inadvertently become ideal "prey" for scammers. They set up countless sophisticated traps such as: Recruiting collaborators with "easy work, high salary", impersonating government agencies to put pressure or making up sad stories to deceive people's compassion and appropriate property.

Identifying prevention as a key task, the An Cuu Ward Police Command has proactively "taken the lead" in tackling crime by drastically and creatively deploying a multi-layered prevention strategy, closely following the local reality by closely coordinating with the youth union and student associations of universities to build models of student self-management of security and order right in schools.

“Since participating in the self-management model initiated by the ward police in coordination with the school’s Youth Union, I feel more responsible. We are not only updated with the fastest information and scam tricks to warn our fellow dormitory residents, but also become the “eyes and ears”, a direct bridge to the police. Instead of passively waiting, now we students are also contributing a small part to building a safer living environment for ourselves,” said Le Anh Tuan, a student at Hue University of Economics .

Realizing the important role of accommodation facility owners, the Ward Police have made efforts to turn each landlord into a security "fortress" by periodically organizing meetings, providing documents, guides to identify fraudsters and instructions on how to quickly report to the local police when there is a suspicious problem. To spread information on the cyberspace that criminals exploit, the Facebook Fanpage of An Cuu Ward Police has also been professionally built, not only posting warning information but also producing short, easy-to-understand videos and infographics about fraud tricks, creating a strong and timely spreading effect in the community.

Major Nguyen Tan Phuoc, Chief of An Cuu Ward Police, affirmed: “The area has many universities with a large number of temporary students, and there are always big fluctuations. We determined that we cannot just handle the incident but must build a solid prevention strategy from the grassroots. The combination of direct propaganda and social networks has created a two-way information network, helping us grasp the situation faster and people, especially students, have enough knowledge to protect themselves from all tricks of criminals.”

A clear demonstration of the effectiveness of the work is that the An Cuu Ward Police successfully cracked down on a sophisticated fraud case on the Fanpage “Tin Viet - Cam”. The subject Nguyen Hoang Huy (born in 2002, residing in Gia Lai province) fabricated a story about a 5-year-old girl being kidnapped and having her arm broken by a car to call for charity. This method of appealing to compassion has made many gullible people transfer money to support.

As soon as the incident was discovered, An Cuu Ward Police coordinated with professional units to urgently investigate and quickly determined that the entire story was fake, arrested Huy, and clarified the act of appropriating more than 80 million VND. The incident not only severely punished the violator but also contributed to stabilizing public opinion and strengthening people's trust.
