Interest rates on deposits at commercial banks continue to decrease

To continue supporting businesses, since the beginning of April, many commercial banks have reduced deposit interest rates to create conditions to lower lending interest rates.

Surveying commercial banks last week, Nam A Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Nam A Bank) adjusted down the mobilization interest rate for terms under 6 months from April 11 with a decrease of 0.2%/year.

Thus, this is the third consecutive time this bank has reduced interest rates since the beginning of 2025. Currently, the online interest rate for 1-month term deposits with interest paid at the end of the term is 3.8%/year; 2-month term is 3.9%/year; 3-month, 4-month and 5-month term is 4%/year.

The interest rate for regular savings deposits with a term of 13 months and a term of 24 months and a term of 24 months and a term of 5.6% at this bank is used as the basis for determining the interest rate for the interest rate adjustment period applied to loans before November 2, 2020, depending on the loan term of each signed loan.

In general, since the meeting on interest rates between the State Bank and commercial banks on February 25, the mobilization interest rate has decreased by 0.1-1.05%/year depending on the term, in which, some banks have adjusted interest rates 3-4 times.

Latest data from credit institutions shows that savings deposits in banks have reached a new record of 7,065 trillion VND.
