Mastering the technology to produce 15 types of vaccines for vaccination by 2030

According to the Decision amending and supplementing the program to ensure vaccine supply for vaccination until 2030, which has just been issued by the Prime Minister, Vietnam will be able to produce at least 5 types of vaccines.

The Prime Minister has just issued Decision No. 1018/QD-TTg amending and supplementing Decision No. 1286/QD-TTg dated October 25, 2022 of the Prime Minister on approving the Program to ensure vaccine supply for vaccination until 2030.

Decision No. 1018/QD-TTg amends and supplements Clause 2 and Clause 3, Section I, Article 1, Decision No. 1286/QD-TTg dated October 25, 2022 of the Prime Minister on approving the Program to ensure vaccine supply for vaccination until 2030.

Clause 2, Clause 3, Section I, Article 1, Decision No. 1286/QD-TTg dated October 25, 2022 stipulates the objectives of the Program to ensure vaccine supply for vaccination until 2030 as follows: "By 2025: Master the technology to produce 10 types of vaccines; produce at least 3 types of vaccines, including a 5-in-1 combination vaccine to prevent the following diseases: Diphtheria, Whooping cough, Tetanus, disease caused by Haemophilus Influenzae (Hib) and one of two diseases: Polio or Hepatitis B.

By 2030, master the technology to produce 15 types of vaccines; produce at least 5 types of vaccines; domestically produced vaccines are guaranteed to meet standards equivalent to international standards.

In Decision 1018/QD-TTg, this goal was revised to: "By 2030: Master the technology to produce 15 types of vaccines; domestically produced vaccines must meet standards equivalent to international standards; produce at least 5 types of vaccines, including a 5-in-1 combination vaccine to prevent the following diseases: Diphtheria, Whooping cough, Tetanus, disease caused by Haemophilus Influenzae (Hib) and one of two diseases: Polio or Hepatitis B."

The Ministry of Health shall preside over and coordinate with relevant ministries and agencies to urgently develop a project to produce vaccines to prevent the above-mentioned diseases, including a specific implementation roadmap, and report to the Prime Minister in the third quarter of 2026./.
