Ham Thang Ward, Lam Dong Province is the area that is heavily affected by this flood. Since last night, floodwaters have started to rise, rise rapidly and flood into residential areas, leaving many households unable to react. By noon today, the water on National Highway 1A through Ham Thang and many residential areas has not yet receded, many low-lying areas are still deeply flooded. Hundreds of households have been affected, many properties are at risk of damage.

Faced with the emergency, the armed forces in the province immediately took action. Last night, officers and soldiers of the units stayed up almost all night, organizing rescues and bringing people to safety. With the motto "people's lives are above all", the soldiers crossed the raging waters and promptly reached isolated households, especially the elderly, children and pregnant women.

Along with evacuating people, rescue forces also assisted people in moving property and livestock to safety, minimizing damage.
Mr. Tran Ngoc Hien, Chairman of Ham Thang Ward People's Committee, said: "Hundreds of households in the entire ward have been affected by flooding. Local authorities are urgently assessing the damage and synchronously implementing measures to support people to stabilize their lives and overcome the consequences of the floods."

Together with the local government, the army, police, border guards, navy, and youth union forces have simultaneously launched relief operations. Colonel Nguyen Minh Chinh, Political Commissar of the Defense Command of Region 5 - Phan Thiet, said: "This morning, the unit mobilized maximum human resources and vehicles to organize the supply of food, drinking water, and life jackets to people in deeply flooded areas."

Officers and soldiers of Thanh Hai, Mui Ne, Tan Thang Border Guard Stations (under the Provincial Border Guard Command) and Brigade 681 (Navy Region 2) also quickly arrived at the scene of flooded communes and wards to assist people in evacuating and distributing relief goods. Meanwhile, the Traffic Police, local police, and militia actively blocked and guided vehicles through flooded areas, ensuring traffic safety and preventing traffic jams or unfortunate accidents.

Not only the functional forces, the spirit of "joint efforts, unanimity" is also clearly shown through the hearts of philanthropists and donors across the province. Each box of instant noodles, bottle of water, package of cakes, life jackets were handed to people in the flooded areas. Many spontaneous volunteer groups also quickly set out, along with local authorities to help clean up houses, cook rice, and distribute relief gifts to people.

These practical actions, though small, contain great sentiments and are a great source of encouragement to help thousands of households in flooded areas to be more steadfast in the face of natural disasters. In times of difficulty, the spirit of solidarity and affection is the strength that helps people have more motivation to overcome difficulties.
Currently, the work of overcoming the consequences and ensuring people's welfare is being actively implemented by all levels and sectors. The functional forces are still on duty 24/7 at key points, ready to respond when situations arise. We believe that, with the timely attention and support of the authorities at all levels, and the sharing of the whole society, the people of Ham Thang ward in particular and the flood-affected localities in general will soon overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.
