The five individuals are officers of the Economic, Corruption and Environmental Crime Prevention and Investigation Team in the Agriculture and Rural Areas (under Department PC03, Lam Dong Provincial Police) and Mr. Vang Dinh Hoang, Captain of Mobile Forest Ranger and Forest Fire Prevention and Fighting Team No. 1, Forest Ranger Sub-Department, Lam Dong Department of Agriculture and Environment.

Previously, SGGP Newspaper reported that, through grasping the situation, the Economic Police Department, Lam Dong Provincial Police coordinated with Da Sar Commune Police, Forest Protection Department, Lac Duong District Forest Protection Department to discover a car with license plate 49C... driven by Bui Van Nam (temporarily residing in Ward 9, Da Lat City) on National Highway 27C in the direction from Da Nhim Commune to Da Lat City, carrying 64 logs of wood with a total volume of 3.49m3 .
Subjects re-experimented with illegal logging.
Here, Bui Van Nam confessed that he, along with Bui Van Huan and Nguyen Van Tuyen (both temporarily residing in Da Sar commune, Lac Duong district), entered sub-area 122, a forest area managed by the Da Nhim Forest Management Board (in Da Chais commune, Lac Duong district, Lam Dong province), sawing dead standing pine trees with dry leaves and fallen trees, then transported them to a wood processing workshop in Da Phu area, ward 7, Da Lat city for the purpose of sawing boards or making firewood.
Initially, the subjects confessed to sawing pine trees from the forest to make firewood.
Checking the scene, the authorities recorded many three-leaf pine trees (group IV) were cut down and scattered by the subjects. The subjects had cut them into many segments (from 1m to 3m long) for transportation.
All illegally cut trees belong to natural forests. Through inventory, 31 pine trees were cut down, the damaged wood volume is about 11.5m3 .
