Lam Dong successfully organized a commune-level civil defense drill in 2025

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the exercise, Mr. Ho Van Muoi, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, said that the new Lam Dong province after the merger has the largest natural area in the country and has a strategic position in terms of national defense and security. In recent years, the locality has faced many types of natural disasters such as floods, storms, landslides, etc., causing heavy losses in human lives and property. “The commune-level disaster prevention and control drill in the province in 2025 is an important and practical activity to improve the capacity of leadership, direction, operation, inspection and assessment of the response readiness of the provincial civil defense system. Training coordination and cooperation skills between the Army, Police, health , militia and self-defense forces and departments, branches, organizations and people in natural disaster prevention and control. Evaluating the effectiveness of response plans and practical capacity, helping the government and people improve skills and effectiveness in responding to natural disasters and incidents" - Comrade Ho Van Muoi affirmed.

The drill is divided into 2 phases: Drill on operating the mechanism and practice handling situations.

Hypothetical situation: Due to the impact of storm No. 12, there was heavy rain in Lam Dong province, especially in Tuyen Lam lake area of Xuan Huong ward - Da Lat, heavy rain caused landslides, tilted 3 houses, buried household items, traffic in residential areas was cut off, the optimal approach was to move by waterway on Tuyen Lam lake. The Head of the Ward Disaster Prevention Command reported to the Head of the Provincial Disaster Prevention Command, requesting support of response forces and means.
