Working with the woman accused of child abuse spread on social media

On the morning of October 28, An Bien Commune Police (An Giang Province) worked with the woman who appeared in a clip circulating on social media, accused of pulling the hair and beating a young child.

According to the clip, the woman continuously scolded, pulled the child's hair and hit him on the head and face, causing public outrage.

Upon receiving the information, An Bien Commune Police coordinated with relevant agencies to verify the incident. Initially, it was determined that the child named TBT was about 6 years old, his parents were divorced; his father worked far away and left the child with Ms. Vo Tuyet Vang (from Binh An Commune) to take care of in Hamlet 15, An Bien Commune.

Working with the authorities, Ms. Vang admitted to beating the child as shown in the clip. She confessed that the father had previously asked her to take care of the child and provide financial support in installments, each time for about 3-4 months, with a total amount of about 15 million VND. However, from October 18, 2024 until now, she has not been able to contact the child's family, and the support has been interrupted, leading to frustration in the child's daily life and care.

Through health check, the authorities recorded that the child had some injuries on the face, elbows and both knees. Currently, the local authorities are coordinating to care for, stabilize the child's psychology and ensure his safety.

An Bien Commune Police continue to investigate and clarify the motive and extent of the woman's actions to handle them according to the law.
