Today, Kinh 2A Hamlet has a new look with clear, clean, beautiful roads, shady green trees, spacious houses, and prosperous people's lives. Since 2023, Kinh 2A Hamlet has eliminated poor households, and by 2024 there will be no near-poor households. Secretary of Kinh 2A Hamlet Party Cell Nguyen Cao Thang said: "The whole hamlet has 509 households, only 5 households do not follow religion. The Party Cell, the Hamlet Leadership Board and Mong Trieu Parish regularly coordinate to propagate and mobilize people to live in solidarity, closeness, and actively participate in protecting the environment and building new rural areas."

Together with the local Party Committee and government, Mong Trieu Parish promotes its role as a bridge connecting religious life and society. Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh - Chairman of the Pastoral Council of Mong Trieu Parish shared: "In addition to guiding the life of faith, the parish also educates parishioners to well implement the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State, encourage economic development, and contribute to ensuring security and order in the locality."

From 2019 to present, Mong Trieu parish has effectively maintained the Religious Club participating in environmental protection and responding to climate change with 11 members, including: Parish Priest, Chairman of the Pastoral Council, representatives of hamlet leaders and people. The club issued specific operating regulations, linking environmental protection with the movement of the whole people uniting to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas.

Joining hands for a green, clean, and beautiful environment, over the past 3 years, the parish and the people of Kinh 2A hamlet have mobilized contributions of over 800 million VND to widen 3km of rural roads, build new ones, and repair 2 bridges at a cost of nearly 600 million VND. The hamlet has mobilized the Kenh 2 group from my hometown to support 30 trash cans worth 21 million VND, placed throughout the residential area. Thanks to this, people's awareness of environmental hygiene has been significantly improved.

Not only cleaning the rural roads, people also join hands to deal with the situation of water hyacinth, waste and animal carcasses polluting canals and ditches. Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh said: "In the past, people used chemicals to kill water hyacinth, but now they have switched to manual methods; organizing regular collection and collection. Thanks to that, the canal has been cleared, the water environment has been improved, making it easier to transport and trade agricultural products." People also take the initiative to preserve the environmental landscape. Ms. Trinh Thi Thanh, a Catholic, living in Kinh 2A hamlet, shared: "I keep my house clean, compost organic waste, burn inorganic waste or sell it to scrap. I also grow flowers and vegetables along the road, which is both beautiful and brings in extra income."

If Kinh 2A Hamlet is a bright spot in environmental protection, Kinh 5A Hamlet stands out in the movement to build a model new countryside. The whole hamlet has 398 households, 98% of which are Catholics, 100% of which are well-off, and no more poor households. Mr. Pham Van Tam - Head of the Front Work Committee of Kinh 5A Hamlet said: "People contributed nearly 1 billion VND to build and repair street lights, install security cameras, build incinerators, and support schools. The model of lighting up rural roads and green fences has received strong support from the people."

The leadership of Kinh 5A hamlet also coordinated with the Commune Police to launch a model of a residential area that ensures order and traffic safety, and established a mediation team, with 100% success. Thanks to that, security and order have been maintained, and the spirit of solidarity among the people has become increasingly strong. The movement to protect the environment and respond to climate change has also been maintained regularly. Every year, hundreds of parishioners participate in cleaning, dredging canals, and building embankments to prevent landslides. "Up to now, 98% of families use clean, hygienic water, 99% of households have toilets; the roads are bright, green, clean, and beautiful. The appearance of the countryside has improved, and people's lives have improved," said Mr. Pham Van Tam.

Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thanh Dong Commune, Nguyen Kim Thuy, affirmed: “Thanks to the solidarity and consensus of Catholic compatriots, the great solidarity bloc of the entire people in the commune is increasingly strong. This is an important resource for Thanh Dong to continue to strive to build a rich, beautiful and civilized homeland.”
