On the days approaching Lunar New Year 2024, at the construction site of the 500 kV line 3 project from Quang Trach (Quang Binh) to Pho Noi (Hung Yen), at location 201 in Chau Son commune, Quynh Phu district, Thai Binh, there are dozens of engineers, workers and machines operating, constructing and installing the excavation and foundation casting items.

The construction atmosphere is bustling, "3 shifts" working day and night to ensure construction progress, with the common goal of completing the entire project by June 2024.

Directly inspecting the construction progress of this project on the afternoon of January 27, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested Thai Binh province to quickly clear the land; coordinate with the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) to launch a movement, mobilize people, organizations, and businesses to actively participate, support and listen to suggestions and comments to promote progress and ensure the quality of the projects.

The Prime Minister also inspected the construction progress at column 13 foundation location in Nghia Hong commune, Nghia Hung district, Nam Dinh province; location 41 in Thuong Kiem commune, Kim Son district, Ninh Binh province; location 100 in Ha Hai commune, Ha Trung district, Thanh Hoa province under the Nam Dinh I - Thanh Hoa 500kV transmission line project.

The Prime Minister requested Vietnam Electricity Group - EVN and EVNNPT to strive to complete the project in June 2024 with the spirit of "only talking about work, no backtracking", "overcoming the sun and conquering the rain"; "eating and sleeping quickly"; "working in 3 shifts and 4 shifts"; "working through holidays and Tet".

Sharing information at the construction site, Chairman of the Board of Members of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) Dang Hoang An said that this is an important and urgent energy project, passing through many localities and must be implemented in a short time.

However, with the strong direction of the Prime Minister and the participation of ministries, branches and localities; and the support of the people, certain results have been achieved so far.

"The investment and bidding for this project has never been so fast. In the next few days, the bidding packages on the entire project's line 4 will be completed, including 226 construction, conductor, and steel pole bidding packages. This result is due to the work being done in parallel.

For example, the compensation work has not been approved yet, but we discussed with the province and the people to advance money so that they can hand over the construction site. Many people have handed over the site, so once we have the site, we can start," said Mr. An.

Aware that this is a national key project, Mr. Bui Quang Canh - Director of Power Construction Company No. 4 (representative of the construction unit) - said that he has mobilized a large force at the construction site and is ready to work through Tet to ensure the set progress.

He also requested the local authorities to support and facilitate the investor and construction unit in the issue of site clearance for the foundation and corridor positions later. Because when implementing the erection of columns and pulling wires, the speed of site clearance is the most important.

For this project, according to Mr. Canh, the construction unit carried out the project in the spirit of working through the night and Tet, with the brothers celebrating Tet at the construction site, ensuring the progress of the entire project.

“When participating in the 500kV line 3 project, we thoroughly instilled in all employees in the company, from the office to the production unit, the policy of working during Tet. During Tet, depending on each position and workload, we will arrange enough workers to work, the number will not decrease much compared to normal days.

We have assigned the Trade Union department to fully implement the benefits for our workers and laborers so that they can work with peace of mind," said Mr. Canh.

The 500kV line 3 project from Quang Trach to Pho Noi has a total length of about 519 km, passing through 211 communes and wards of 43 districts and towns in 9 provinces including Quang Binh, Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Hai Duong, Hung Yen. The total number of column foundations is 1,179 column foundations, with a total investment of about 22,000 billion VND.

The project is of great significance in enhancing the capacity of the 500kV North-Central transmission grid, contributing to ensuring electricity supply for the North at present and in the coming years.
