First time organizing jackfruit contest at Hanoi city level

According to information from the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the 2024 contest to honor, promote and promote the consumption of specialty jackfruit products has the participation of 9 districts and towns. Specifically: Ba Vi, Thach That, Phuc Tho, Chuong My, Quoc Oai, Thanh Oai, Soc Son, Dong Anh and Son Tay town.

The 20 competing teams will go through 3 rounds, including the preliminary round in districts and towns; the preliminary round and the final round are scheduled for July 4-5, 2024 and the awards will be presented at the opening ceremony of the event on the evening of July 5, 2024.

According to the Organizing Committee, the Contest has 40 prizes in 3 groups (20 collective prizes: 1 special prize, 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes, 13 consolation prizes; 10 prizes for delicious jackfruit tree: 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes, 4 consolation prizes; 10 prizes for displaying booths from jackfruit products: 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes, 4 consolation prizes).

Within the framework of the event, there are display areas: bonsai jackfruit trees; fresh jackfruit, decorations from ripe jackfruit; products processed from jackfruit; handicrafts processed from jackfruit wood and booths of 20 teams participating in the contest to honor, promote and promote the consumption of Hanoi specialty jackfruit varieties in 2024.

According to the Head of the Hanoi Rural Development Department, Nguyen Van Chi, the contest aims to promote and introduce jackfruit varieties and jackfruit specialties of Hanoi people. This is also an opportunity to strengthen the connection between the "5 houses", helping to improve productivity, product quality, enhance competitiveness as well as build the brand of Vietnamese agricultural products, contributing to the successful implementation of the Campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods".

Previously, in 2022 and 2023, the People's Committee of Son Tay town organized the Jackfruit Competition twice. However, the scale was only at the town level. In 2024, the People's Committee of Hanoi expanded the scale of the competition to the city level with more teams.
