(kontumtv.vn) – According to a VNA reporter in Laos, in the early afternoon of May 24, a delegation of the Central Executive Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the State, the National Assembly, the Government and the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction, led by General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith, went to the Vietnam-Laos Embassy in Vientiane to lay wreaths and write in the condolence book to express condolences over the passing of former President Tran Duc Luong.

The wreath of the delegation of the Party, State, National Assembly , Government and Central Lao Front for National Construction bears the inscription: "The Central Executive Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the State, National Assembly, Government of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, and the Central Lao Front for National Construction deeply mourn the passing of comrade Tran Duc Luong".

After laying wreaths, burning incense and paying tribute, General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith was moved to write in the condolence book to bid farewell to former President Tran Duc Luong, with the following content: “On behalf of the Central Executive Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the National Assembly, the Government of the Lao PDR and the Lao Front for National Construction, I would like to express my deepest condolences and infinite sorrow at the passing of comrade Tran Duc Luong, former member of the Politburo, former President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam - an outstanding leader of the Party, State and people of our fraternal Vietnam, and at the same time a close friend and comrade of the Party, State and people of Laos.

We would like to express our respect and remember the great contributions of comrades to fostering the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two States and peoples of Laos and Vietnam over the past time.

Immediately afterwards, the delegation of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee's Foreign Affairs Commission, the delegation of the People's Council and the Vientiane Capital Government, the delegation of Lao Ministries, Departments, and Branches and international organizations in Laos; representatives of the Embassies of the United States, France, Indonesia, Timor Leste, Singapore, North Korea, India, South Korea... in Laos came to offer incense, lay wreaths and sign the condolence book in memory of former President Tran Duc Luong.

Delegations from the Vietnamese Embassy, ​​agencies attached to the Embassy and the Vietnamese community in Laos took turns offering incense, laying wreaths and signing the condolence book in memory of former President Tran Duc Luong on the morning of May 24.

All delegations expressed their respect and infinite sorrow for Comrade Tran Duc Luong - a loyal and upright communist soldier, a respected and exemplary leader, an excellent scientist, who devoted himself to the country and the people. He left behind valuable legacies and is a shining example for present and future generations.

The ceremony to pay respects and register condolences for former President Tran Duc Luong at the Vietnamese Embassy in Vientiane, Laos, and at the Vietnamese Consulates General in the three regions of Northern, Central and Southern Laos was held on May 24-25.
