Many meaningful activities to celebrate the 135th anniversary of Uncle Ho's birthday

Exhibition "Cultural Heritage Space of President Ho Chi Minh in Hue "

On the morning of May 19, at the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hue City, the Department of Culture and Sports of Hue City held a flower offering ceremony to President Ho Chi Minh and opened the exhibition "Cultural Heritage Space of President Ho Chi Minh in Hue".

Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Hue City Phan Thanh Hai emphasized that Hue is honored and proud to be the place that bears the mark of 10 years where President Ho Chi Minh and his family lived, worked, studied and participated in patriotic activities through two periods (1895-1901 and 1906-1909). In addition to the system of relics and memorial sites associated with his childhood, intangible cultural heritages about him are also researched, collected and compiled by the Ho Chi Minh City Museum, contributing to spreading more spiritual values about President Ho Chi Minh in the community, actively contributing to building the ideological, moral and lifestyle foundation for all classes of people today and tomorrow.

The exhibition “Cultural Heritage Space of President Ho Chi Minh in Hue” consists of 2 parts: Cultural Heritage Space commemorating President Ho Chi Minh in Hue; Artistic Ceramic Space “Hue with Uncle Ho”. The exhibition has nearly 200 documents, images, and artifacts introducing the cultural heritage of President Ho Chi Minh in Hue.

The exhibition introduces to the public and visitors a system of extremely valuable tangible heritage with 20 relics and relic sites; of which, 4 relics are ranked by the Prime Minister as special national relics and 5 relics at the city level.

In particular, the exhibition introduces to the public two intangible cultural heritages about him, including: Rituals and traditions bearing the Ho family name of ethnic groups in the western part of Hue city; Folk poetry praising President Ho Chi Minh.

The public and visitors will be able to participate in the space reenacting the Ho family name ceremony in 1969 performed by historical witnesses and artisans in A Luoi district; listen to artists and artisans sing folk songs praising President Ho Chi Minh that were popular in Hue during the resistance years and still exist today; and admire traditional handicraft products with themes about him.

The exhibition displays 40 ceramic works selected from the Ceramic Art Creation Camp with the theme “Hue with Uncle Ho”, organized by the Ho Chi Minh Museum, the Hue City Fine Arts Association and the University of Arts, Hue University from March 10 to May 10.

The exhibition runs until August 25 at the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hue City.

Binh Thuan organizes photo exhibition and tree planting to forever remember Uncle Ho

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province coordinated with socio-political organizations of the province and the People's Committee of Ham Thuan Nam district to organize the tree planting launching ceremony in 2025.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Van Tri affirmed: Tree planting always plays a very important role in the context of environmental pollution and global climate change today. Along with promoting industrialization, modernization and urbanization, protecting the ecological environment is extremely important, ensuring sustainable development and protecting people's lives. He suggested that the Front and socio-political organizations, local Party committees and authorities need to widely propagate in many forms to the masses; cadres, civil servants and public employees in agencies and units about the purpose and significance of tree planting; the great role, effects, comprehensive and long-term benefits, and humanistic values of tree planting.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, delegates planted 300 oil trees along the road leading to the North-South Expressway in Ham Kiem commune (Ham Thuan Nam district) to the National Highway 1A intersection.

Also on the morning of May 19, departments, branches and localities in Binh Thuan launched a tree planting campaign in response to the launching ceremony of “Tet tree planting to forever remember Uncle Ho”. This is a practical action to protect the environment, contributing to propaganda, education, raising awareness and responsibility of the people, emphasizing the role and importance of trees and the urgency of tree planting, environmental protection and natural resources.

Identifying afforestation and greening vegetation as a sustainable way to protect the ecological environment, in recent times, Binh Thuan has implemented many movements, programs and activities of planting trees and afforestation. The province calls on agencies, units, all cadres, civil servants, public employees and people at all levels to participate in afforestation and tree planting, turning the tree planting plan into an emulation movement of all levels, sectors, unions, residential areas, enterprises... in the province. The province aims to plant 10 million new trees, contributing to the completion of the goal of "Planting 1 billion trees in the period of 2021-2025" according to the Prime Minister's Project. The total forest area of Binh Thuan is more than 349,000 hectares, including nearly 297,000 hectares of natural forest and 52,150 hectares of planted forest. The forest coverage rate reaches 43.08%.

Binh Thuan Photography Association in collaboration with the Provincial Cultural Center organized the photo exhibitions "Ho Chi Minh - Portrait of a man" and "50 years of the country's roads".

The exhibition consists of two topics. In particular, the topic "Ho Chi Minh - Portrait of a man" includes more than 60 images, documents... sketching the portrait of Uncle Ho from different perspectives on his life, career and personality. The public and visitors are introduced to images of a great leader, selflessly devoted, steadfast and indomitable for the revolutionary cause of the nation, but also full of charity, honesty and simplicity in daily life.

Binh Thuan is proud and honored to be the place where Uncle Ho spent his years teaching at Duc Thanh School. The exhibition is a tribute from the Vietnamese generation today and tomorrow to Uncle Ho, contributing to promoting the study and following of Uncle Ho among all classes of people, especially the young generation.

The theme “50 years of the country’s roads” includes 50 images, which have won many awards, reflecting the diverse economic and social achievements across the country. The works reflect the efforts and passion for the art of photography of Binh Thuan photographers. They always seek and learn new things, strive to bring to the public a vivid overall picture of the simple life, the homeland’s landscape, the industrialization and modernization of the locality after 50 years of National Reunification and celebrating Uncle Ho’s birthday.

The photos bring a deep sense of life, culture, nature, people and country; thereby, contributing to promoting, propagating and introducing the dynamism and integration after 50 years of national reunification of Binh Thuan and the country.

The exhibition will run until May 31 at the Binh Thuan Provincial Theater and Cultural and Art Exhibition.
