Leaders of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism meet with businesses to remove difficulties for growth

At the meeting, businesses presented difficulties and obstacles in the production, business and investment process. Most of the businesses faced difficulties from high operating costs, lack of quality human resources, unfair price competition, complicated administrative procedures, and difficulties in accessing financial support policies, especially for small and micro enterprises.

At the same time, businesses have recommended and proposed solutions for the city's tourism leaders to further accelerate the pace of administrative procedure reform, visa exemption for international visitors, improve infrastructure, tax incentives, electricity and water prices, further develop service sectors, and promote the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in tourism promotion.

At the conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, acknowledged the key recommendations of businesses. Currently, the department has 26/26 administrative procedures provided with full online public services.

The Department has a plan to cut down and simplify procedures related to granting travel service business licenses and tour guide cards, but is waiting to implement the roadmap to amend the Law on Tourism, reduce the number of current administrative procedures, eliminate unnecessary steps, shorten the time to resolve and process work and documents, effectively exploit stimulus projects, improve the quality of destinations, to contribute to promoting better economic development of the city.

The Department affirmed that it will continue to maintain regular dialogue with businesses through conferences, meetings, and discussions to ensure the tourism industry develops in the right direction and sustainably, completing the targets of welcoming 8.5 million international visitors, 45 million domestic visitors and revenue of VND260,000 billion by 2025.
