Speaking at the program, on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27), Provincial Party Secretary Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam emphasized: Phu Quy is a land rich in revolutionary traditions. Throughout the resistance wars, the people on the island always turned to the Party, believing in the victory of the national liberation cause. Many outstanding children of the island fought bravely, sacrificed, and devoted their blood and bones for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
The Provincial Party Secretary affirmed: Phu Quy is an outpost island, holding a particularly important strategic position in protecting sea and island sovereignty and national security. In the area, there are currently many armed forces units on duty day and night, ready to fight to protect the sacred airspace and sea of the Fatherland.
With the very special role and position of Phu Quy Special Zone, the Central Government and the province always pay attention and make key investments. Economic development is always associated with the task of caring for and improving the lives of policy beneficiaries and people with revolutionary contributions in the area. At the same time, the provincial leaders always acknowledge and appreciate the efforts to overcome difficulties and hardships of the armed forces who are on duty day and night, ready to fight on the front line of the Fatherland.
On behalf of the provincial leaders, he sent his warm regards and best wishes to families of policy beneficiaries, people with meritorious services to the revolution, and officers and soldiers on duty on the island. He also emphasized that the Party and State always pay attention to and improve preferential policies for people with meritorious services. Caring for the lives of families of policy beneficiaries is a political responsibility, a sacred and profound morality of "When drinking water, remember its source".
The Provincial Party Secretary requested the Party Committee and the Phu Quy Special Zone Government to continue to pay more attention and care to policy beneficiaries; closely coordinate with the armed forces to build a national defense posture, a solid defense zone, proactive in all situations, not to be passive or surprised. At the same time, he hoped that people with meritorious services and policy families would continue to promote their patriotic traditions, be role models in patriotic emulation movements, build a new life, contribute to the sustainable development of the locality and the effectiveness of the two-level local government model.
At the program, the provincial leaders presented gifts to 5 policy families, people with revolutionary contributions and 5 typical armed forces units working in Phu Quy, including: District Military Command, District Police, Border Guard Station, Military and Civilian Medical Special Zone and Airport Terminal Unit of the Air Defense - Air Force.
On this occasion, representatives of several businesses also sponsored the construction of 3 houses for 3 households in especially difficult circumstances, each house worth 100 million VND.
