DTO - To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), on the morning of April 24, the delegation of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province visited the Provincial Martyrs' Cemetery (located in My Phu Ward, Cao Lanh City).
The delegation offered wreaths to pay tribute to heroic martyrs at the provincial Martyrs Cemetery.
Attending the funeral were comrades: Le Quoc Phong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Phan Van Thang - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Secretary of the Party Committee of the provincial Party agencies; Tran Tri Quang - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Acting Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; representatives of leaders of departments, branches, armed forces, the Fatherland Front and socio- political organizations of the province; leaders of Cao Lanh City.
Provincial leaders and delegates observed a minute of silence to commemorate the heroic martyrs.
At the ceremony, provincial leaders and delegates respectfully offered wreaths and incense before the National Monument to honor and commemorate the great contributions of the heroic martyrs who fought and sacrificed to protect the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. Next, provincial leaders and delegates came to burn incense at each martyr's grave to express their respect and deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs.
Comrade Le Quoc Phong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee offered incense at the martyrs' graves.
Dong Thap Province Martyrs' Cemetery is currently the resting place of more than 3,100 martyrs who heroically sacrificed their lives during the resistance war against the French and the Americans to save the country. Every year, on holidays and Tet, the province organizes a ceremony to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs at the provincial Martyrs' Cemetery. Thereby, expressing the deep feelings and gratitude of the Party Committee, government and people of Dong Thap province to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the cause of national liberation and reunification.
