At this time, many students in Can Tho are also looking for part-time jobs to both earn extra income and accumulate soft skills.

On January 16, Tuoi Tre Online noted that after school, many students rushed to their part-time jobs that they had registered for in advance on the Zalo group.

Mr. Nguyen Duy Phuc - Director of Can Tho Youth Employment Service Center - said that the unit has established Zalo "Part-time Student Group" to provide job information quickly, conveniently and especially reliably for job seekers. Currently, the group has nearly 1,000 members including students and workers looking for jobs in the Western region.

Accordingly, after verifying specific job information, such as job position, salary, workplace, etc., to avoid fake jobs and student fraud, the center will post a job advertisement.

Specifically, information such as businesses, restaurants, and hotels that are in need of recruiting people for jobs such as party service, kitchen assistant, sales, water and milk tea service, etc. will be posted on the Zalo group, as well as posted on the website and official Facebook channel of the Can Tho Youth Employment Service Center.

Students can then choose to register and select suitable jobs on social networks, or come directly to the center.

Luu Thi Anh Tuyet (from An Giang ) shared that during Tet, there is a high demand for recruitment. Students who work can earn extra income and gain experience from the real working environment.

"This Tet, I stayed in Can Tho to work as a kitchen assistant, getting paid 25,000 VND/hour. Working through the Tet season, I also earned some money to pay for my tuition," said Anh Tuyet.

Mr. Tran Thanh Toan - a specialist in the job introduction and consulting department of the Can Tho Youth Employment Service Center - added that he has created about 10 more Zalo groups for part-time jobs, because the number of students needing jobs is greater than before and this year the Tet job market is also bustling.

For part-time jobs such as selling drinks, milk tea, restaurants, serving wedding parties... the salary that students receive is from 18,000 - 20,000 VND/hour. If students work overtime from the 28th of Tet to the end of Tet At Ty, they will be paid from 20,000 - 25,000 VND/hour.

Faced with fierce competition in the labor market, many students have proactively built and developed their personal profiles, actively gaining practical work experience while still in school to increase their competitiveness in job applications later.
