For the first time, the coastal city of Da Nang, Vietnam’s most dynamic tourist destination, has been chosen as the venue for the Michelin Guide 2025 announcement ceremony for three major culinary centers: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang. This prestigious event will take place on the evening of June 5 at the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort.

The highlight of this year’s event lies not only in its scale and international character, but also in its location, one of the most luxurious resorts in Vietnam, located amidst the pristine nature of Son Tra Peninsula. The choice of Da Nang shows Michelin Guide’s clear recognition of the remarkable development of Central Vietnamese cuisine and the city’s growing stature on the global culinary map.
Here, the list of restaurants and eateries that have been awarded Michelin Star, Bib Gourmand and Michelin Selected in Hanoi , Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang will be officially announced. The names on this list are all carefully selected by anonymous appraisers, based on 5 globally consistent criteria: quality of ingredients, cooking techniques, flavor harmony, chef personality and stability of dishes over time.
In particular, the Michelin Guide Special Awards - to honor outstanding individuals in the culinary industry such as Outstanding Young Chef, Outstanding Waiter or Restaurant Manager of the Year - will also be presented on this occasion.
This year, the event welcomed a series of outstanding chefs from countries in the region. Among them was Davide Garavaglia , head chef of Côte by Mauro Colagreco restaurant (Bangkok, Thailand) - a 2-Michelin-star restaurant famous for its contemporary Mediterranean cuisine. Davide was honored as the Outstanding Young Chef in Thailand in 2023.

From Korea, chefs Yun Dae-hyun and Hee-Eun Kim of Soul, a Michelin-starred restaurant in Seoul and Busan, bring a modern, elegant and sophisticated twist to Korean cuisine. They represent a new generation of chefs who are reinventing tradition with a contemporary mindset.
Representing Vietnam are familiar names in the fine dining world such as Chef Sam Aisbett of Akuna Restaurant - a Michelin-starred restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City, famous for his innovative Australian style based on local Vietnamese ingredients. Chef Quang Dung of Chapter and Olivier Corti of Le Comptoir are also present, bringing artistic dishes, representing modern Vietnamese cuisine and the quintessence of French cuisine, respectively. In addition, Chef Madame Binh of Luk Lak Da Nang will introduce rich, local flavors of the Central region.

The first announcement ceremony in Da Nang not only helps to elevate the cuisine of the Central region but also affirms the growing position of Vietnam on the Asian culinary map. Michelin Guide is playing an important role in promoting service quality, culinary creativity and attracting gourmet tourists from all over the world to Vietnam.
