Also attending the meeting were Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh and leaders of ministries, branches and agencies. At the Dong Nai bridge, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha also attended the conference.
According to the Prime Minister, in recent times, central agencies have issued many resolutions, directives, decisions, and telegrams to promote the development of social housing. Thanks to that, up to now, the whole country has planned more than 9.7 thousand hectares of land, with 679 projects implemented with a scale of more than 623 thousand apartments, of which more than 73 thousand apartments have been completed and put into use. However, compared to the demand, it is still low.
Just 2 days after the National Assembly passed the Resolution on piloting social housing, on June 1, the Government issued Resolution 155/NQ-CP on implementation and today held a conference to deploy it to ministries, departments, branches and People's Committees of provinces and cities.
This Resolution has many new and breakthrough policies such as: establishing a national housing fund; expanding the subjects eligible to rent social housing to arrange for cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers; cutting and reforming many administrative procedures; Provincial People's Committees stipulate conditions for enjoying social housing policies for subjects affected by the organization and rearrangement of administrative units...

For Dong Nai, up to now, the province has selected investors for 15 projects with a scale of 20,000 apartments; approved the investment policy and is selecting investors for 10 projects with a scale of 12,000 apartments; and completed nearly 1,700 apartments. With breakthrough policies from the social housing pilot resolution, the province is committed to exceeding the social housing target assigned by the Prime Minister this year to complete 2,600 apartments.
Concluding the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that there are currently two humane, important and urgent housing policies: eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses and building 1 million social housing units. Regarding social housing, by 2025, the whole country must complete 100,000 units and by 2030, there must be 1 million units, which cannot be changed. To do this, Party committees, authorities and local leaders must pay attention to leadership and direction at the right level, at the right level, and with the right heart; organize the implementation of new policies promptly, flexibly and creatively at agencies, units and localities.
In June 2025, the Ministry of Construction will preside over and work with ministries and branches to urgently advise the Government to issue documents to implement the social housing pilot resolution in a synchronous, unified and effective manner nationwide.
